Great for 3 year old
Perfect for my toddler grandson. He loves the controls and can work them pretty well. Just have plenty of AA and AAA batteries to hand

Perfect for train obsessed little one
The media could not be loaded. This item came nicely condensed in a small square box, minimizing unnecessary packaging which was a bonus. Parts consisted of a remote control, train engine and trailer which joins to the engine via a magnet.Instructions were included in the box in various languages, but I must say they weren't the greatest to follow / understand. The instructions do mention about installing LR44 batteries in to the trailer - my trailer came with batteries in it so that wasn't required.I don't like the fact that you need AA batteries for the remote and then AAA batteries for the train (and LR44 for the trailer) would have been good if all batteries required were standard across everything. The trailer flashes with lights which is a nice touch, makes it more colourful for the kids, but mine kept randomly flashing whenever it felt like it, so I had to stick the piece of plastic back underneath to put a barrier between the battery (maybe there was a way to stop it that I missed but there's no on/off button for this).Apart from those few niggles, this is a very cute remote controlled train and it works perfectly on Thomas tracks and Brio tracks (I could only upload 1 video so added the Thomas tracks). The engine has sound effects, you can also sound a horn and turn the headlight on the train on from the remote control. The range on the remote control is very good, I've backed myself out of the front room and could still control the train from some distance.Very nice little toy - price point could be a bit better though, it is expensive for what it is, but a child who loves trains will be very happy with this toy.

Excellent train for wooden tracks
I received this product through the Amazon Vine programme and this review is based on my own opinions.I wish my kids had these when they had their brio sets but a 3 year old nephew is loving this. The train and controller arrived well packed and all I need to do was add batteries. The train and coal wagon are made of plastic rather than wood (which the title may have confused some about) and are nicely made. The controller is also plastic but fairly durable and easy to use.The loco and wagon light up which is a nice touch and the movement is good. The range seems fine but we keep the controller close to the track. I tried with both brio track and hape track and the train moves nicely.Great additional for the little railway fans.

Disappointed
I thought this was going to be a decent size train with a few carriages, but it's really tiny and only has one carriage. Put a battery in expecting some kind of sound but nothing, it doesn't work on the train tracks we have and for a 3 year old it was very under whelming. He was in face very disappointed kept looking for the rest of it. I think I would prefer a bugger train for little hands and no battery which will run on most tracks. Really disappointed.

Disgusting!
It didn't work, looked like something was blocking the wheels, i openef it and saw this!! Looks like someone's hair🤮 it definitely had been used before it came to me. I'm so disappointed and disgusted. It doesn't even deserve one star!

Super trenigmi
