Watercolor Wanderlust: The Ultimate Guide to Painting Beautiful Landscapes

I’ve purchased a few watercolor books primarily because I’m a beginner needing great detail. This book definitely fits the bill!! I love the paintings that the author chose, easy directions, I even think I can modify some with other details. Can’t wait to get started. I love Hannah’s paintings

This is a really great book. The paintings are fresh and interesting. I love all the mountains that were chosen by the author to paint. But I’d have to say the one tutorial I’m super excited to try is Stonehenge! The steps for each painting are very clear and easy to follow. There’s a painting example for every step too, along with the actual reference photo. I have a lot of watercolor books, it’s actually a healthy addiction I tell myself, and this is one is really good. I’m glad I purchased it.

This is a fun book that takes you through painting from reference photos, with color & brush advice & step by step photos of the painting. There are also approaches for trees or mountains etc & it's informative & fun to go through the book.

This is a decent book for a budding watercolor painter. I first found it on tictoc and I like the way she paints.Four stars because some of the tutorial photos don’t quite match up with the written directions. That’s a problem I hope she can correct. Otherwise, it’s enjoyable.

I originally found this creator on Tik tok, but have painted multiple paintings from this book as well. I have been learning from this author for a couple months and they do a great job of explaining how to do the techniques, why the techniques matter, and walks you through the process. Very easy to understand and has improved my watercolors a lot!

I got this book after following the artist for a while on social media and being continually blown away by her work. Each lesson contains a step-by-step description of the brush movements and techniques used to create detailed, realistic landscapes, including color recipes. The lessons are grouped into chapters based on the type of landscape they convey, and they increase in difficulty/complexity over the course of each chapter. I worked my way through mostly linearly, jumping around whenever a landscape caught my eye. I've seen my skills improve so much from this book, to the point I can mostly figure out how to paint landscapes from photos I've taken or found online. I've learned a good deal about color theory from this book as well. Watercolor is a huge part of my self-care routine and I've gotten so much enrichment out of this book, I feel very grateful to have found it.

Hard to follow as a beginner

I follow Hannah on Social Media and just had to get the book as soon as I heard about it. Her step by step instructions are easy to follow and the illustrations are fantastic. The quality of the book itself is even fantastic. Nothing was overlooked. I highly HIGHLY recommend this book for all water paint lovers.

I’ve been trying these past years to teach myself how to paint using watercolors. I’ve tried many books and videos on YouTube, which were good, but Hannah’s work is more suited to my style, and thus I think it’s very very good (both this book and her live streams on TikTok).She explains everything with a very easy-to-grasp way, plus she guided you to mix the colors yourself, and not just use the paint straight from the tube/pan, which is something I struggle with, and it’s very helpful to me.The projects you are guided to paint are very interesting and the result will look like a real, professional painting.Give it a shot, and I think you won’t regret it. You can get a preview of her work and way of teaching you can check out her YouTube channel where she uploads her “Sip ‘n’ drinks”, where she paints real-time and you can paint along her.

I’m loving this book. I’m working through each painting in my daily practice. It gives me some structure starting with simple landscapes and expanding from there. I love the way she tells you what colors to mix and includes a swatch. I feel like after I have finished the book I will be able to paint any landscape.

This book includes beautiful watercolor landscaps, with amazing instructions. My skies have immediately improved after following the first two projects.
