Pretty solid
This thing has been a major convenience. It’s perfect for splitting kindling to get that stubborn fire going. It’s worth the money. There’s holes for mounting and probably would work better if you did mount it. Has the tendency of bouncing around if you don’t mount it.. Just make sure you mount it over something that’s hollow and same diameter under it so the log falls through and doesn’t get stuck in the splitting wedge.

Decent splitter, be mindful of the product description, its rather accurate and that's good! :)
The good part of this is that it is rather sturdy, seems well made, welded points are fairly well done, it has a good coat of paint on it to help prevent rusting and for the most part it works. (Included some pictures after splitting a piece of wood). The critical parts, first, it should go without needing to be said but a log splitter such as this is best for soft woods, I don’t recommend hard woods, I tried Hickory, and it didn’t go well. After trying the hickory, I tried an Oak wood, and it went great. Note all wood used is seasoned more than 6 to 12 months, ideally a year or more. Anyway, as I went about reading the instructions and it says basically Oaks are good for using on the splitter, and they listed other soft wood types as well but in short, it supports what I had concluded before reading the instructions. One thing it says in the instructions is that the blade is not very sharp, nor really dull, but more so its “just right” for splitting logs over a long time as blades too sharp would dull fast or might get damaged easier and blades too down force harder or more work and force to split the log. Generically I’d agree and it’s a fair statement. It might be a bit counter to one part on the product page that says the blade is sharp, in fairness its an opinion as to me its not really sharp just well edged/honed.It also comes with gloves and some hardware/bolts to secure the splitter and I recommend doing that as it is unsafe and more challenging to split the log for an unstable splitter (I know I tried at first and it wasn’t my first time using a log splitter haha).Lastly, I’d say they do include a hammer, and it is usable, it’s what I used to split the logs I tested. While it is usable, I’d say it’s not super awesome or ideal for doing large amount of splitting or will it be easy if you can’t put some good, controlled force behind your swings. There are hammers/tools that would do better here but it’s up to you as the hammer/mallet will do the job.Overall, decent set, given price, I’d set this at 4 stars for its given price but on sale and for small splitting here and there it’s a great tool.

It does not split oak. Soft wood it works great.
It just wont split hard wood without a much, much much bigger hammer.

So much easier than using axe to split wood
This is so easy to use, even wife likes it and uses it (much safer for her to use also) splits dry seasoned wood like butter, wish I would have found this sooner, would have saved my old shins from getting hit from flying wood
