Our largest duffel bag and the one that started it all as the original replacement to the green duffel bag. With over 60,000 sold and still in service around the world, there is plenty of room for a lengthy deployment or a giant family adventure. The Hybrid expands to the task at hand protecting your gear and keeping you on the move. Review: Get it - had to buy another one Review: One of the best choices for deployment, red bag, or bug-out. - Bought this to use as a red bag for wildland fire deployments. I am extremely happy with the quality and construction of the bag, and the well thought out interior layout. There are useful pockets on the underside of the top flap for batteries and toiletries, a large side pocket for boots/shoes/wet gear which also has an expandable zipper for the main compartment (makes it bigger), and a divider in the main compartment which is great for snacks or clothing. The bag is very large, but can be compressed quite well. Will easily fit 45 lbs of gear (wildland limit), and would probably do close to double that if needed. The nylon it's built from (1000) is extremely durable, and is not going to tear anytime soon. The underside of the bag has a secondary layer for abrasion resistance, a very good idea. Another great feature with the padding of the bag is it doesn't really collapse when it's opened. That makes finding specific gear easier, especially if it's dark. Backpack straps are pretty comfortable, you could hike it for a few miles without damaging yourself. Great side handles for transferring to and from vehicles. The construction of the bag should prove fairly weather resistant and the top flap extends over the zipper limiting the potential for leak-through, but it won't be waterproof (close perhaps, if you spray it with waterproofing spray). This would be one of the best choices for a red bag, a bug-out bag, or a military deployment bag (what it's designed for). All-in-all, a great choice with no downside that I can think of. 12/19 Update: Bag is still 100%! No issues, this sucker has been riding around exposed on the back of a type 3 and type 6 engine off and on for 4 years +, and not a single problem. The only consideration might be that it is a little bigger than most other redbags, due to the size and padding, so might or might not work for your department. A great choice. 04/21 Update: Still 100%! One could argue that this might be one of the best gear bags ever made. No rips, no tears. Good to go! 07/25 Update: Still 100%! 1 small burn, no rips or tears. Note: This bag might be a little large for some engines or standard bag sizes, but can compress down a little bit.
