Best infrared light I have purchased yet in my massage therapy business.

The lamp was fine the first couple months. Once the deadline to return expired, the base started to become less stable. Last week, some material that resembles sand, started falling out from the bottom of the base.And now, not only does the whole lamp look severely tilted and downright dangerous, it is also dirying my floors. DON'T buy. A piece of junk.

Assembling this light and stand was fairly straight forward. There's really just one bolt that runs through the middle of the cross pieces and threads into the bottom of the post. The + shaped base is made from concrete-filled plastic. This makes it sturdy and adds weight to keep the light solid even when fully extended. It's not quite medical-grade quality but it is sturdy enough for regular home use. The cord is heavy and 8 feet long. Controls are well made and operation is pretty straight forward. It also includes a wireless remote and protective green glasses.I have lumbar spinal stenosis and use this for my lower back. It works great to lay in bed and set up the light on the floor beside the bed and then extend it about 12 inches from my skin. In the past, I tried unsuccessfully to use a hand-held red light therapy device on my dog. I think this would be much easier. Because the radiant heat can be felt, I feel like my dog would be more likely to stay under it.

This looks like it’s for commercial use, it’s well built, it’s maneuverable and can be adjusted to different positions, it makes it so much easier to hit those difficult areas, it really does work in helping to elevate soreness and pain to the back and joints, the remote control is a plus.

I use about a half-dozen TDP lamps clinically. I guess I assumed TDP was a brand or something but this lamp is of a markedly different quality than the other lamps I own. It is mostly plastic and has half the heft of my other TDP lamps. It also feels throws off half the heat of a traditional TDP lamp as well. The digital stuff and the remote work great. If you're used to a standard TDP lamp, you will find this one underwhelming. I would return it if it wasn't a pain to disassemble and pack so I'll keep it as a house call lamp. It's smaller and lighter and will fit more easily in the trunk of a car. I wouldn't recommend it for office use.
