I recently picked up a couple of these VIVOSUN seedling heat mats to give my plants a little extra TLC during the cooler spring weather here in Hardiness Zone 5B. I've got them set up in my 4-tier mini greenhouse, and so far, I'm really impressed with how they're performing.The installation was a piece of cake. All you have to do is unroll the mats, place them under your seed trays, and plug them in. No muss, no fuss. Each mat was perfect for the standard seed trays I picked up at my local garden center.Once powered on, these mats provide a nice, gentle heat that seems to be just right for germination. I'm not a pro and haven't measured things super precisely, but my basil, thai basil, oregano, sage, thyme, chives, lemon balm, and catnip seem to have no complaints. The heat feels very uniform across the whole mat too.I've also gotten them a bit wet during watering and there's been zero issues. They seem built to last.All in all, I've gotta give these VIVOSUN mats two green thumbs up. They're doing a stellar job keeping my seedlings cozy and thriving during these last few weeks before I can move them outside.

These are nice mats. They are flat and whatever heating mechanism they use, there are no bumps or wires in the mats, unlike another brand I purchased. However, these do get very very warm, almost too warm. So I have a few thick towels between the mat and my starter plants. Another product, I got the wires are a tad bit lumpy in the mat but the heat is perfect. So there's always a trade off. They do the job but just be sure to to modify your set up as needed.

I've tried germinating dwarf tamarillo seeds more times than I can remember without a heating pad and within a month of planting them again and using these pads I finally see a seedling.There's no temperature control, it just slightly radiates heat. It's not hot to the touch and while I don't think it's particularly dangerous I don't leave them running when I'm not around either. Like any heating element, I'd make sure it's powered off when not present. But it does the job as basic as it is, and for that it earned the positive review.

BEST PURCHASE EVER!!! I started a makeshift indoor greenhouse for seedlings this past winter. I wanted to get a head start, since we have a late spring, our ground doesnt defrost until late may. THESE ARE AMAZING!!!!! My seedling germinated within a week!!!, As you can see in the picture it keeps it nice and warm and a little humid! I will be buying more!!! AND I have used them when hosting a party and would place underneath the plastic table cloth and place food on top and kept it warm LOL

Great value for the price in a two pack - bonus less packaging too! Came with a great little bag to store them when not in use. I have prior ones that have worked perfectly for seedling trays. I am using one of these currently at the back of a 20 gallon vivarium with red-eyed tree frogs. They have slept right up against the glass next to it. It has provided a warm zone from front to back but also one that goes all the way to the top of the tank at the back. It is on a VIVOSUN temp controller and has foam loosely placed behind it to help direct heat into the tank. SO FAR, SO GOOD.

Perfect t works well

After reading reviews on this i treated these as very temperamental. Normally wouldnt of bought these based on reviews, but it was what was available in the timeframe I had. Once i had them unrolled, i kept them on a supporting tray and they will stay there. They arent as warm persay as my other retail store bought ones but they did the trick. I dont feel like I would want to roll these back up to store they will stay on a a shelf flat. Cant go wrong for the money, i would have hoped for something a little hardier but if your careful with them they should be ok.. at least the two I got were.

Received my mats today and have one plugged in already under a tray of seeds. They came quick and the mats were packaged in an absolute top notch way. Packaging told me right away that I bought a great product. The mat heated up quickly and from I could tell, the heat was very well distributed. No cold spots. The dome on the seedlings showed the moisture in no time at all so the mat is doing its job. I am very happy with the purchase.
