Learning Curve but worked amazing!
I purchased this scanner for my 2020 CRV as I needed to Change out the CVT Transmission! Quality is good no issues with function. Once you figure out how to navigate through the menu This scanner is amazing and does it all. I was able to run all of the CVT systems tests that are required after changing out the transmission, but this thing does so much more than just a simple OBD scanner its crazy and while it is Car brand specific is so much cheaper than most dealer level scanners!

Fantastic scanner with great functionality.
Was a crucial part of the rebuild of my 2006 Acura TSX. I bought the car non-running and this little device was instrumental in diagnosing the various issues and needs to get the car back on the road. A full timing set and cam gear, and 1200 miles later I've got no issues with the car. But if I did, this device lets you look deeper than the standard OBDII scanners. It's able to run a full diagnosis and reset things like ABS modules and CANBUS codes. Well worth the price!

A DIY Mechanic’s Dream—Advanced Capabilities at a Wallet-Friendly Price
I recently picked up the 2025 LAUNCH Creader Elite OBD2 Scanner (the BMW version in my case), and wow—it punches far above its $169 price tag. Devoted BMW/Mini/Rolls-Royce owners (and apparently Toyota users too) will find that this tool handles nearly every diagnostic and coding task without needing dealer software gm-trucks.com +10 amazon.com +10 vtsautoworld.com +10 . 🔧 What I Love Full-System, OE-Level Diagnostics – You can scan virtually every module: engine, ABS, airbag, transmission, body electronics—you name it amazon.com +1 gm-trucks.com +1 . Bi‑directional Control + Active Test – Commands like window motor cycling, mirror adjustment, and lamp activation can be triggered live––no more guesswork amazon.com +1 4runners.com +1 . Advanced ECU Coding – Recently added in 2025, this lets you enable or customize features like auto-fold mirrors, disable seatbelt chimes, recalibrate sensors, and more—ideal for retrofits and personalization amazon.com . All-in-One Service Resets – Perform oil light resets, ABS bleeding, EPB reset, battery coding, injector matching—you get full service functions for free amazon.com +1 vtsautoworld.com +1 . Auto VIN + Lifetime Free Updates – Plug in and it identifies your car instantly and updates firmware for life—no subscription fees. This scanner is a phenomenal bargain. It gives dealership-level diagnostics, coding, and service reset functions without the dealership price. Yes, you'll want the brand-version that matches your vehicle and maybe brush up on features via videos, but the time and money savings are very real. For me, the LAUNCH Creader Elite is a garage essential. Highly recommended!

OBDII Scanner for Toyota/Lexus
I purchased a Launch Creader X431 Elite reader for our Toyotas. Specifically, I was interested in accessing the 'hidden programmable' features such as turning off the seatbelt warnings, programming the key FOB (open windows etc..) and other vehicle-specific options. I wanted a hardwired bi-directional device rather than using bluetooth devices such as Carista. The manual is very (very) basic, and only provides very rudimentary information. They really need a map that outlines the various menus and how to access all of the capabilities of this device. It seems to have a lot of capabilities and detailed information, it is just not intuitative to use. I spent quite a bit of time poking around the various menus to finally locate the programmable features. I was able to program two different Toyotas using this device, was easy once you figure out how to manuever around within the device. I will upload two flow charts for the various menus to assist other new users. I contacted CS to see if they had any other files or manuals that outline the various features, but apparently not. I inquired about accessing the programmable features of the vehicle, and they claimed the device CANNOT program these cars (clearly this was incorrect as I did program our cars once I found the correct menus). There are also a variety of YT videos showing folks programming their cars with these devices, so I knew it should be possible. I contacted US Launch to inquire about support for this scanner. They advise me these are sold by an overseas affiliate, and as such, they **do not** support these particular units. I asked if they had a similar unit for US customers that they did support, and they simply told me to search their website without providing any recommendation. Seems to be a handy device once you figure out how to use it. FYI - the box used to ship the device does not specify this is a Toyota-specific item. The Toyota options pop up when you work through the menus and scan the vehicle.

Dead on arrival and USED
I could not get this to turn on, even after charging it. The device turned on when plugged into a power source or plugged into the vehicle otherwise it will not function. Also, when I turned it on, it was not the first time it has booted up. The initialization process had already been done, meaning, this was A USED unit. Likely returned for not turning on and they resold it. I had to factory reset the unit to start the initial setup. After some frustrating moments with things not working properly, factory reset, and attempting to update the unit, I FINALLY updated it. Plugged it into my car, and it finally could pull up some data. The user interface isn't really the greatest, and honestly feels pretty cheap. It feels more like $50 unit in my opinion. I'm going to try a couple of tests with it, but I'm 95% sure I'll be returning it and finding a better unit for the price, even if I have to spend more. Between receiving a dead and used unit that won't charge, poor UI, and somewhat slow processing, I don't really see myself keeping this unit.

I purchased the Toyota version. I felt I was working on Toyota’s TechStream But much cleaner interface and a LOT faster too. It does almost everything that TechStream does in a much easier way. Its NOT meant for a workshop but can be used The smaller screen and the limited live data streams makes it a bit impractical for a workshop. But all in all I’m very pleased with this purchase and I do recommend it for any Toyota owner who knows how to use a professional scan tool

I was looking for a scanner to clear the VSA code on my 2006 Honda pilot. The code appeared around the time my battery died. After replacing the battery, the triangle with the exclamation mark and the VSA light stayed lit on my dash. Drove like this for a while as I held off on purchasing a scanner. I know the Foxwell NT630 Plus can do it (different process) but this Launch scanner had a fantastic sale price and looked like it had the functionality to read VSA codes. Bought it during the cyber monday sale and was able to clear my VSA code easily with it (easier process than the Foxwell). It's a bi-directional scanner and the options can be a bit much if you don't know what you're doing. But for the home mechanic, this is a great tool. If you have a Honda, the Honda specific version of this scanner is great. Just make sure you run the update before using it for the first time. Been driving my pilot for over 100km now since clearing the code and the VSA light has not come back on. Happy with my purchase.

I have been using this in my dealership for some time now. It is amazing! There is little that it can't do over the scanner that Honda gives us to use. Everything from actuator tests to resetting learned throttle angles and PCM resets. The health report/ code clear is faster than the Honda tools, even in USB mode. The cost versus a generic OBD readout tool is a non starter. If this one broke today I would happily pay for another. A must have !

This scanner is absolutely amazing! We'll worth the money and it was relatively inexpensive for what it can do. Keep in mind that you have to order manufacturer specific. I need it for Hondas and I've been able to do everything with this scanner including programming keys and initializing tpms sensors along with a tpms tool. Highly recommend it. Updates are also free.
