Video Catnip

We moved to a new place and needed to transition our indoor/outdoor cat to indoor only. She was pretty stressed at not being able to go out and we were still moving things in and trying to unpack. We didn't want to lock her in a room and stress her out even more so we bought this video. It arrived the next day and she LOVES it! She watched from beginning to end, which allowed us time to get everything inside without worrying she would escape. She's gotten used to being an indoor cat and seems to love being "pampered" inside. And she'll sit by the tv and meow to let us know when she's ready for her "show" again. SO glad we bought it for her.

I have a cat with special needs and she loves videos so we have several. I hate to leave bad reviews. I’m an artist and I know art is subjective but we were both disappointed with this! The picture was blurry, the colors were way off and it didn’t loop. Was my copy defective?? Sadly, my cat had no interest.

This video is at best 90 minutes and it has no looping feature. One of my cats absolutely loves TV and this is no good for leaving on for him. It is only useful when we are close by and can make it play over. Back to YouTube.

Video keeps kitten engaged for hours! It plays to the end and she just keeps sitting there, staring at screen until I restart it. She has attacked my tv so much, she almost knocked it over and broke it. So I went to the pawn shop and brought her a cheap big-booty tv for $10. I sat it on the floor, hooked up the dvd player, and she can attack that all she wants without damaging it. I wish I could find another dvd in this series. Definately buy this--you won't be sorry :)

my cats get excited when i turn on this DVD! The loop feature is awesome! i have caught them so engrossed in it, they don't hear me come home. they chatter and sometimes jump up at the screen. i've had it for several weeks and play it often but they don't seem to tire of it. On the contrary, they love it more and more and even seem to have a whole new interest in television in general and will watch my programs with me too. They also seem more motivated to play. The only reason i didn't give it five stars is that the actual quality of the images is not good and the music section that opens the loop is unnecessary and too loud. the cats and i both prefer the section with only wildlife images and sounds but the other part is short and certainly not a reason to avoid this product. i highly recommend this DVD to entertain the "kids" when you are away, but take the warning about excitability serious and be sure the environment around the TV is safe for wound up cats to romp a little. I love this product!

My cats love it. I had the VHS (still do), and replaced it with the DVD.

Both of my 1-year-old cats were "glued" to this video the first time I played it, but then they lost interest. I put it away and got it out again about a week later, and they were again fascinated. One of my cats simply watched intently. The other watched, and jumped and pawed at screen. When a bird or squirrel suddenly went off-camera, she walked around the TV as if searching for it.Because the cats quickly tire of it, I only play it for them once/week or so. I was really hoping for something that would hold their interest longer. Both of my cats are very playful and they love to "help" me when I'm working at home. I was hoping this video would serve as a distraction for them when I need to work undisturbed. But they tire of the video too quickly.Both video and sound quality are poor, and my impression is that it is rather amateurish. The cats don't seem to mind, but I still think the quality should be better at this price point. Couple that with the $6.95 shipping fee, and I don't feel it the video is worth it.If I had it to do over again, I would not buy this video.

I bought Video Catnip on a whim for my cat George Hairyson’s second birthday. George was missing our old home where he got to spend each morning staring at birds out the window. It actually became somewhat dangerous because he broke through the screen a few times. I would tell him, George, “You’re an indoor cat. What are you doing?!”But, he had his mind set on the birds.I AM SO GLAD I FOUND VIDEO CATNIP!!!! Ever since I bought this DVD George has watched it every day. My husband and I no longer have to replace our window screens, and he’s a happy cat. I love the look in his eyes when he watches the birds and other creatures go by on screen. Such a fun, but safe activity for cats! It really does keep them entertained for hours.
