Great fighting force with giants, horses not included
As a former owner of a “Fort Apache Playset” circa 1968 I feel like somewhat of a veteran regarding toys like this because I played with them all the time growing up. There were a few different things that intrigued me about this play set. For one thing, it’s NOT green army men or cowboys and Indians. I’m not sure why the toy manufacturers got so fixated on that early on but I really like the medieval theme. I also like that they clearly included giants in the set, because I think we all know, giants are real, and why shouldn’t they be represented here? I also really like all the little destroyed ruins and rocks and stuff because you pretty much have to have all that or your guys don’t have any cover and they get killed almost immediately. It bothered me that they included more small shrubs than rocks with holes for the shrubs to stick in. I actually had to drill some of my own holes in the rocks.Things to know. The majority of the soldiers are small. That wasn’t a downside for me but if you’re expecting all the men to be larger that could be disappointing. The giants on the other hand are more like the size of regular army men. All of the soldiers have a good base under them that makes them easy to set up. NOTHING is more annoying than trying to set up all your guys and have half of them falling over for no reason before the battle has even commenced. I also really like that all the soldiers are browns and grays and mostly earth tones, except for some of the giants who are silver colored. Can I just reiterate here that toy fighting forces should not come in primary colors for more reasons than I care to elaborate on in this review? No, being a yellow or orange cowboy is pretty much an instant death sentence. It was never a good idea. The little zippered pouch that everything came in is pretty sweet.Things that bother me. The outside of the box has all these pictures of knights on horseback but there are no horses in this set. I don’t think it’s asking too much to have a little higher level of truth in advertising. Also just to be fair, I didn’t miss not having any horses in the set and I probably wouldn’t have even thought about it if they hadn’t put pictures of them all over the box. When you’re a kid “what you see is what you get” can be pretty important. Overall a pretty fun set if you don't mind not having any horses and don't mind drilling holes for some of the shrubs.

Wonderful knights set for all ages!
This is a very large set of knights and other assorted figures. The colors are nice and bright and each figurine has some nice detail. They are nice and sturdy and even with rough play they will hold up great (i know this first hand). This set is a very good value because there are so many types of men and with only a little imagination, people of all ages will be able to have so much fun setting up different scenarios. I highly recommend this as a gift or just to spoil yourself.

Create a fun medieval battle scene
An assortment of knights, walls, siege platforms, and some terrain that all matches what's shown in the product images. Comes in a 7" x 6" x 3" plastic bag with a zipper and carry handle. The small knights come in gold vs. dark gray while the larger knights come in silver vs. black. The two different sizes knights are a bit odd, but the big knights can just be "giants". The plastic is what you'd expect from "army men" type figures. It's just flexible enough to be not brittle and seems quite sturdy.Contrary to what's shown here, the two siege platforms do not require assembly. Note that they don't have moving parts; these are two different platforms (one lower, one raised). The two flags require simple assembly (stick flag in hole). I'd recommend super-gluing them. The two pieces for each flag must be cut apart, so be sure to do that for young kids. I'm not sure why both flags are the same as it seems more fitting to have a flag for each army, but that's just my opinion.Four sets of walls (and two extra boulders) come on two large sprue structures. These snap off easily, but some of the pieces had excess plastic that I had to trim off with a hobby knife before they'd snap together easily. The two large wall builds only fit together in one specific way, so I recommend assembling and super-gluing these for young kids. The two small "brick" wall builds can be combined in a variety of ways, almost like a mini-construction set, and should definitely be left loose to encourage creativity.I'm completely confused on what the "grass" pieces are for. Some boulders have holes and the walls have a few pegs but neither really fit this "grass", but I'm sure they'll find something imaginative for it to represent.A good value for a fun set.

Fun little medieval army soldier toys
This a pretty big bag full of very small soldiers. These remind me of the green army men toy soldiers I had as a child, except these are of medieval style of soldier. There's a mixed bag of various different unit types in different battle poses. It includes the soldiers, siege warfare equipment and some landscape elements like trees/bushes, etc. Enough stuff that you can build out an entire battle scene on your floor, or tabletop. There are two different colors, so you can have two different armies facing off against each other.I got this because I have a small wall next to the stairs leading up to the door of my house. I've been wanting to make a small display with medieval warriors that looks like there's a miniature attacking army laying siege to the wall of my house, with some defenders on top of the wall. This set is great because it includes plenty of little soldiers and the siege equipment. It really is perfect for what I was looking for. Looking forward to setting this up on halloween.
