Dex Station for Samsung, USB C to HDMI 4K Adapter Desktop Experience for Galaxy Note8/S8/S8 Plus,Nintendo Switch, MacBook Pro 2016 2017

My Galaxy S8+ automatically launches the DEX desktop platform every time I plug it into this adapter. However, please note that you will only get "regular" charging speed even if you're using a Samsung fast (adaptive) charger. Because of this I cant leave my phone docked because it will slowly loose battery life even if its charging. It simply looses battery life slower. This is not the fault of this adapter. Even the Samsung DEX docking station has this same problem.Other things to note:1.) Also, I had trouble using this with a HDMI to Display port adapter. I had to purchase a new monitor that had HDMI ports. This could have been the fault of the HDMI to display port adapter though. Plenty of people online report using those adapters without problems.2.) If you have some issues with DEX coming up, make sure to try WITHOUT the power cable plugged in. Also, it may take 30-60 seconds for DEX to activate the first time you use it. Later its much quicker.Summary: This adapter works great, especially for $30 which is half the cost of most other adapters and much less than the Samsung DEX docking station. I definitely recommend this adapter if your trying to use the DEX platform. 3 other people in my office have now gotten this same adapter to use at their workstation.

USB passthrough fast charging capable. 4k works fine not sure if its 4k@30 or 4k@60 either way who cares. Works great with Samsung Galaxy s8+, fires Samsung Dex up no compatibility issues whatsoever.Shipping took ENTIRELY too long. I believe amazon delays non-prime shipments to make prime membership seem more enticing. Its bullshit and took over a week before the item shipped. No reason to get the samsung dex dock, a cooling fan wasnt even needed in my case even after an hour of nonstop pubg mobile with keyboard/mouse.[ 7th Month Ownership Update]It's dead! It will no longer pass-thru charge. Smells like burnt pcb/chips. Led no longer lights up when connected to power. Worth the price if you need something temporary though. Would not recommend for a long term product. Decent external build quality, internals are now highly questionable. Awaiting response from seller to determine what comes next.Second update:Contacted seller and informed of dead unit. They shipped another no questioned asked. Told them i could ship back the dead one they said not to worry. Arrived in 2 days from contact. AMAZING SELLER!

it works as advertised, nut here it lies a problem - even if you connect your samsung galaxy s8+ and power the gadget with iPad Pro’s power supply using original usb cable your phone will be still discharging the rate of 10%/hras for me its a deal killer :(UPDATE:I tried original Samsung Power Supply, that comes with SGS 8+ but it did not help.Then I decided to try out original Samsung DeX station and bought it.And You know what?It just works! Phone is charging, I work with DeX without any issues and it's just 10W power supply!.So for now I would not recommend buying it as a Samsung DeX Station replacement.Probably it works nice with MacAir or Nintendo Switch, but God help you if you hope to use it with SGS 8+

I bought this item for experimental purposes for the sake of this review. Upon researching I stumbled across this item claiming that it’s also compatible for the Nintendo Switch. After just under an hour of use the Nintendo Switch does recognize the adapter and responds to any usb device that is plugged into it. I only tested the Nintendo’s Network Adapter when playing in handheld mode. Sure enough I was playing it on a wired internet connection in handheld mode. However when I plugged in the OEM AC Adapter to the USB-C port of this adapter to charge the Nintendo Switch tries to boot into Docked Mode. My first reaction to that was I thought I’ve killed my Switch because the screen went black immediately when I plugged it in but luckily it turns out that it wasn’t the case. I guess that’s why this adapter includes an HDMI in port along with 2 USB ports but that really defeats the purpose of using this adapter when you can actually play it from the Dock of the Nintendo Switch.In conclusion, I can confirmed that this adapter is compatible for the Nintendo Switch. For the intended purpose of this adapter for the Switch. It’s really up to the consumer on what they want to do with it. But it really benefits to those that chooses to play it in handheld or tabletop modes. You just need a stand or a Tryone Gooseneck Tablet Stand for the Switch and you’re good. You still need to charge your Switch inbetween sessions.

I'm happy it worked with my 2-in-1 keyboard & mouse dongle, so i could use the other USB port for something else. I set it up with HDMI to my TV, my wireless keyboard/mouse, so i can easily dock my phone, and sit on the couch and use it like a laptop, while still texting, and using my phone on a big screen.My coworker got this same one, and he installed full office onto it, which is convenient. The only thing i would complain about for this, by default, all web pages still load in mobile version, so you need to request desktop site.Overall, i haven't had any issues with this, it's very strait forward to get working. Plus i can use it without an HDMI cable, and have my keyboard hooked up to my phone, so i can type easier.

I'm impressed with this. I've been using it for a few weeks now with my Galaxy Note 8, it connects to my monitor, allows keyboard and mouse control using it's USB ports and let's me use my phone like a PC.I would say the only downside is how cumbersome it might be if you wanted to use this in a portable fashion. I'd suggest getting a second one for your bag or something if that was what you intended. This is a perfect solution for people that do a lot of work from their phone and want the ability to expand that.
