Excellent device
I use these items for watering our landscaping plants. This makes my fourth device for watering plants. I have three for our home at the city and bought this one for our place at the farm. I make sure the plants are watered anywhere Im at. If it was set for a rain delay and it didn't rain I can select manual watering. I can create more than one schedule as well.

Extremely disappointing experience with Orbit.
Extremely disappointing experience with Orbit.I expected better from a reputable brand, but this product is defective and fails to connect to the advertised 2.4 GHz Wi Fi. The unit only connects to the App via Bluetooth—not the internet—which defeats its entire purpose. You must be physically near the device to control it, making remote watering (the main reason I bought it) impossible.Technical support was effectively useless, and the setup process felt unnecessarily complex, incomplete, inadequate, and incapable of resolving the problem. Unless you’re willing to spend hours troubleshooting it (and I do not guarantee it will help at all), this product is simply not worth the effort. To make matters worse, I purchased it for use while traveling, but since I’m now out of the country, returning it isn’t feasible due to the short return window. In the end, I had to resort to a basic timer and even pay someone to manage watering manually—something this product was supposed to eliminate.Save your money and your time—there are far better, less frustrating ways of wasiting you $ 83.

So far so good. Recommended buy.
I purchased this product to replace my Orbit 62056 unit that controls my drip irrigation system and so far it has performed excellently. I configured the hub device to connect to the WiFi and verified that the weather station was set to the local station and it performs properly with about a 95% accuracy which means the rain delay can be trusted. There have been a few occasions when I had to perform a manual activation or manual 'rain delay' as the auto rain delay was inaccurate but this has been the exception. I appreciate the statistics that are collected and notifications using the iOS app.

Works, but app could be better-No integration with Home Assistant
4 instead of 5 stars. I can remote control it, but requires a dongle plugged into a USB adapter inside the house to bridge the bluetooth to WiFi gap. I have the BHyve app at home for my wired irrigation system and THAT integrates to Home Assistant. The app design could be a LOT better, but it works and smart watering kinda works too, but not intuitive and difficult to use. The same app is what you use for this timer, but you have to add it as a second device. The second device does not have the ability to show up in Home Assistant, so you can't control it with home automation, only with the app. The other annoying thing is when you go to manually water, there is a 4-5 second delay to turn it on, then another 4-5 second delay to turn it off (delay between telling the app what to do, and delay to the action itself being taken). It's a step forward from the dial-based one outside. After a few months in the sun, the dial never turns smoothly and the timer eventually dies. This one there is no dial just a sealed manual button and complete app control. Hopefully this will be better. Connectivity is sketchy sometimes, even with the dongle on the other side of the wall inside the house from the timer, but you have to keep it close (50ft or so).

Surpassed my wildest expectations
Compared to the older water timers, this is the next generation. Easily programmed, it has been reliably watering my new grass seed 4 times a day for the last 10 days with no hitches. It keeps me in the loop with frequent status reports, and it even watches the weather reports to save water when it rains or add a bit when it’s extra hot. All this is fairly common for whole-yard irrigation systems, but above and beyond for a faucet switch. The app interface gives flow rates, which my main irrigation system does not. I’m very pleased.

Gen 2 No better than Gen 1 - Save your $$$
I got Gen 1 ver (Had them over 5yrs) and it was working OK but lately it can't conect - I have 3 of them and I was getting tired of them not working and saw the New Gen 2 Ver, so I upgraded to them and got 2 and same thing will connect for a time or 2 and then it will not conect, So I'm going to return the Gen 2 and look for something else.It too bad I really liked them when they were working.

Solid product.
Great product! In fact I’m purchasing the Orbit 4 way Splitter and 4 Timers with one hub unit!

Really lower your expectations!
So, have the first generation of the BHyve Timer and Hub, decided to upgrade just due to alleged upgrades to the product. First order for new Gen2 showed up, tried and tried get connected never could get water to flow. There seemed to be an issue with the timer itself. Reordered and returned first one. Received second and installed, connected to WiFi and BT, connected as expected and water flowed. All good, right? Well 5 weeks later, timer is not allowing water to flow even though it shows connected to WiFi, it just times out. Decided to get Orbit support involved. In a chat for 1 1/2 hours (can’t believe I tolerated it for so long), and in the end, Orbit does not acknowledge known issue, will not credit back only replace. CS representative tried but likely hamstrung by management and it seemed pretty clear the company doesn’t care about or for its customers. Not at all reliable and they just don’t care. I am going to move on to a competitor and hope I have better luck. I would stay away from this product as it is overrated and cost to much for not working and spending so much time with support going no where.

Excellent timer!
So happy with this unit! The set up took only a few minutes, and it worked perfectly right off the bat. I love being able to control it from my phone. I will be purchasing more of these!
