Love this thing!

Just right amount of illumination while being powered by a common size battery. Not bulky and survived many bumps and bangs.

As described, the mounting tail on it snapped off resulting in it not having secure mounting. I have contacted nextorch about a month ago and they have not responded to me. All I was asking was for a replacement plate and they didn’t even bother to reply.UPDATE:The seller did eventually respond and offered to give me a full refund or a completely new unit despite me only requesting a new mounting plate. I am updating the review to 4 out of 5. I cannot give the product 5 stars as I had to submit a request 2x on their website and it seems that I only received a response due to my 1 star review on the unit. The unit itself was totally fine and what I expected, just wish they’d have been more responsive for warranty considering I contacted them months ago.

I own a few different helmet lights and this is a really nice light especially for the price.

Picked this up to use on my vest instead of helmet and it works great. Wanted to have something that worked similar to my helmet mounted Streamlight but could be used when I wasn't wearing the helmet. Works well to supplement the IR on my NODS. Used the velcro strap to attach to the epaulet on my vest and I'm able to direct the light down onto what ever I'm reading. White, Red, Green, and IR so you can use it under almost any condition. Works great with NODS and includes an IR beacon. IR does not illuminate well enough to use as a weapon light and I wouldn't try to use it for aiming or lighting an area where you're walking, however it does work great when you're trying to read something or work on something close up. White light is not overbearing and works well to illuminate close up. Red and green are both dim enough to not ruin your night eyes. Build is sturdy and seems to be really durable, however only time will tell how it holds up. I don't think I would rate this with the Streamlight, but it is a solid light that works for it's intended purpose. Price point is a little high for a Chinese knock off, but reasonable enough if you don't want to spill for the Streamlight.

The built in light on a PVS-14 gives off 2-3x more IR light than this. Do not buy if you think it’s going to offer you any kind of flood lighting by pointing it up.

It’s not really that bright! Bought it for my helmet and protective gear. Used it when the power was out but , it’s really not that bright I think it said like 350 lumens or something. But I swear a lighter is brighter then this .
