Ion PreColor Treatment

I have low porosity, 4c natural hair (I am African American). I noticed how no matter what brand of box dye I purchase (from Dollar Tree to Garnier Fruits to Clairol)- the dye doesn't last 2 whole weeks, sometimes after a week my gray starts to appear esp. around the crown of my head. After much research and googling I saw this product & thought "why not"? This product works. After one use (my 1st time), not only did my dye last, the grey didn't show up until weeks later, and my hair is softer & more manageable. I am a Black woman in her late 40's, I've been wearing weaves & braids for over 20 years. Use a clarifying shampoo 2 days prior to prep ur scalp to absorb the dye and use this product. I like leaving reviews yay or nay bc I wanna know what's what, so I figure others do to. This works. My grays are back but not as bad as it once was and my hair is softer.03.26.2022/Update:I dyed my hair but didn't use the clarifying shampoo first. I just washed my hair 2 days prior & used the pre color treatment before dying my hair. The dye didn't take as well. So imma go back to using the clarifying shampoo 2 days prior to coloring & not use this product to see what's the difference & report back.

I have had the worst problems with my hair colors being uneven!!! In the strangest spots too! This seriously fixes it.I am NOT a hairstylist but I do enjoy toning my own hair at home, and this is saving me so many headache.

I have extremely low porosity hair (seriously, my stand test strand stays on the surface PERMANENTLY) and have had very uneven absorption btw freshly bleached roots and previously bleached areas, as well as later of stain sitting on my hair shaft, not penetrating - and, summer in Reno, a blue sweat drip that wouldn't quit. Every co-wash was like I was rinsing it out for the first time, and if I really had to wait for the water to run clear? I'd need a shower-bed (💡). But, though not %100 resolved, definitely more than %60, which is well beyond my expectations and makes a walk in the sun less of a blue-streaked embarrassment. Thanks Ion!!!

I color my hair a little too much and am always looking for thing to help out. This worked great and I feel like the color stuck for longer

I feel it protects my ends from getting further damaged when I do my roots. (at home) . Also recommend use in combination with their color booster (you just pour it in when you mix your color. ) and their color sealer in the shower after you rinse, to lock in the color.when I use these my hair comes out softer,shinier,better.
