Needed a Cheaper Meal Replacement Shake
Alright, it just arrived today, I had prime so it only took two days. I am very familiar with meal replacement shakes so I want to give an indepth review for those who may not be. My meal replacement shake of choice is IsaLean. 14 servings of IsaLean is 49$. That's hard to keep up. So now that I am back to meal replacement shakes, I needed a cheaper one and I found Total Soy. $10 vs $49? Easy choice so here I am.Nutrients:IsaLean has a higher percent of the same nutrients in Total Soy. But Total Soy's 35% for 24 nutrients is a fair amount so it isn't a deal breaker. Isalean also has more carbs and protein which helps you feel fuller longer. However, Total Soy still has a great amount and I am still feeling full from my last shake.Taste:This is difficult. People who have never tried or have gone long without meal replacement shakes will have to adjust their taste buds. It isn't going to taste like a chocolate bar you get at the store. IsaLean had decently rich taste and after about 3 days, my taste buds adjusted to actually enjoying the shakes. Although it has been a while since I have had meal shakes, I still think Total Soy has more of a chalky taste. Not too strong, but more prominent. I'll update the answer in a week when my taste buds are adjusted to the taste to give the final verdict on which is better. However, Total Soy does not have a bad or undesirable flavor. It's good, I can drink it. The taste is why it has 4 stars. I just feel like it could be better.Price:IsaLean 14 servings = $49Total Soy 15 servings = $10No brainer which one wins that roundOverall: I am going to wait a week before I give my final review but right now the winner is Total Soy. The slight increase in nutrients and slightly better taste would not prompt me to spend $39 more for the same amount of servings. If they were the same price or close, I would pick IsaLean just because I am familiar with it. But with the price difference, Total Soy wins for now. I will update in a week to see what results I am getting and determine my final verdict.UPDATE: It has been a little over a week and I am pleased with this shake. I have lost about 3 pounds in this week, keeping in mind I am already a normal weight. I changed the water to 200ml which is just under 8 fluid oz and the taste was better. I also sometimes would add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter to mix it up. I'm still keeping the rating at four stars because it should have more fiber in my opinion which would keep me full longer. It kept me solidly full for about 4 1/2 - 5 hours which means its one of the more effective shakes I have tried. I'm going to keep using this in my diet plan so I would recommend it. Just a note though, if you are trying to lose weight don't add too many things to this shake. Even a hand full of fruit here and a couple tablespoons of peanut butter there will make this a 400+ calories shake. I could eat a good small meal for 400 calories so what would be the point in drinking a shake then? Just keep in mind what you add to this shake.

Good flavor, not as pricey as other brands
I do like the chocolate flavor a lot. It does mix well with water or milk. I often use no sugar added almond milk. The texture is relatively creamy and smooth (not chalky). I am also happy that the calorie content and price is nearly half that of other brands. This is great if you are a woman in menopause, otherwise, I would advise being cautious of your soy intake (phytoestrogens).
