Pecorino Calabrese - Whole Wheel (3 pound)

Excellent pecorino cheese at a reasonable price. I buy a wheel or two each year and love it sliced with fresh bread or good crackers. Shipping and packaging is good but I try to get it in cooler months

Bought it before it will be grated and used on spaghetti. Great cheese a a good price.

The media could not be loaded. I recently enjoyed a dining experience where the chef cooked risotto inside a cheese wheel. It seemed so easy and so unique I wanted to surprise my family for the holidays with a classy dinner experience. The cheese arrived to Florida in a cooler bag with 2 ice packs. It wasn’t cold anymore, but the cheese smelled fine and was still whole. I cut the top off and scooped enough to make a bowl. The family snacked on the scooped cheese and it was sharp but tasty. I made a homemade cream sauce for pasta and dunked the hot pasta into the “bowl” to make a homemade cheese Alfredo. It was fun and delicious!

The cheese was too aged to be good for eating. It tasted too sharp even after removing a large amount of rind.It was just too old.

Superb cheese ! And the price is an unbeatable bargain .

I like I mean liked not loved the cheese it is not the best pecorino I had! What really bites me is the fact you charged for the cheese and where got it! I could have got to restaurant depot myself and got the cheese but i mistakenly thought you gave a cheese straight from Italy!! My mistake! Very very upset to say the least!

I liked the texture and taste. I froze the unused portions. Freezes well. Onvce defrosted it's still soft with excellent solid texture.
