The last one I bought lasted over 6 years. It covers the confidential info evenly as long as there is ample ink. The refills are relatively inexpensive and readily available. Best bang for the buck.

Easy to use and works great.

Picked this up to use on paper junk mail and lower-risk stuff like receipts. For anything more sensitive than that, I recommend a micro cut or confetti shredder. Using one of these on the junk mail saves the life of my shredder, so that's handy for the price. Also, others have commented that shiny/glossy paper does not absorb the roller ink easily - something I can confirm - so save your roller for the regular paper.

I like this for it's simplicity and ease of use while it protects something SO important-- our personal data on documents. I hate using the shredder-- with it's loud irritating motor and frequent paper jams. I would always just toss my shred docs into a pile that would sit forever because for whatever reason, I either couldn't or didn't want to shred at the moment. Then I would wind up with a huge shred pile that I regretted creating lol BUT not anymore because I now have this handy roller tool that effortlessly blocks out everything that I want blocked out on my documents. It's extremely quick and easy (and dare I say it-- fun?!? lol) and only takes a couple seconds. You just pull the cap that it sits in and rollll it where you need info to be redacted. Usually one pass is all you need, unless the ink is running low. Even that is super simple-- ink refills. The unit comes with several (6, IIRC) little ink refill bottles, each containing more than enough ink to fill it completely. Just snip the tip off the refill bottle, insert it into the refill port on the side, gently squeeze until unit is full of refill is empty! You're ready to go again. This little miracle has made my life so much easier and I would be lost without it now lol

This has a pattern that totally hides the printing underneath. Very dark ink also. Easily hides your info. Ripping up your stuff doesn’t work because you can still read it. This works!

Identity theft protection roller saves me time. Instead of picking and peeling off labels from mailed packages and envelopes that have my printed home address,I just roll this roller and the ink covers up my personal information before I throw out or recycle my boxes. It’s easy to use and it makes me happy to know that this item is available at Amazon. So easy to order and I think it would make a great gift.

Love the idea, but it's hard to refill and makes a mess.

Es muy práctico el sello, me evita tener que usar el triturador para la mayoría de los documentos en papel. No es adecuado para cubrir datos de etiquetas o materiales de envoltura, los repuestos de tinta rinden muy bien

This is a very good product when your data and identity needs to be protected. This product hides all sensitive information when taking a photo or sharing images. This is a must have to secure your personal information.

This worked right out of the box, and gave good coverage, and I couldn't read the text from either side.A pox to the mailers who needlessly put your name and address info on every mailing, sometimes 3-4 times. Like many people, I have had ID theft (after our building mailbox bank was compromised, aging locks), and I have been saving everything up to shred. This is far easier.I haven't had to change the ink cartridge yet, but the instructions are right on the side of the box that I am keeping it in. This was the only one I saw at a good price including replacement rollers.
