Molon Labe Tactical Hat & Patch Bundle (2 Patches + Hat)

I am a former Naval Officer. I used to wear military ball caps for a living. I suppose that I was expecting the hat to have a certain Under Armour quality to it or at least be good enough to be worn by a high school baseball team. The hat is very cheap. If you take a close look at a high quality ball cap, you will notice that the visor has 8 rows of very tight stitching. This hat has only 4 rows of very loose stitching. The stitching throughout the hat is equally loose. The top of the hat where you normally find a metal grommet is bound together by a piece of velcro. I am not sure why this was thought to be better than the more sturdy grommet. The material itself is very thin which I would not mind except for the fact that the front of the hat sits flat on your head. This causes the front patch (the star of this show) to lie somewhat flat; almost like an after thought. In the end, this does not feel like an operator's hat so much as something that an underpaid mall cop / mall ninja might wear.There is a chance that my head just doesn't suit this hat. (I kind of doubt it.) In all fairness to the seller, the online photo does show a piece of velcro where the grommet would normally be placed. Perhaps it feels like a bigger deal than I anticipated since the rest of the hat is so disappointing. As I noted in the title of this review, the patches are of very good quality. It really is a shame because I don't have a hat to put them on. The only thing about this hat that was not cheap is the actual cost paid. Given the lack of value, I would have given this 1 star but bumped it up to 2 because the patches themselves are great.Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks!!

while I do agree with components of my fellow brethren, I would have to disagree with the overall view. The patches alone are worth the price of the hat and I have had no problems with it's reliability. Now admittedly, I have no idea what the Velcro on top is for, but factoring the overall value and the fact that the patches have finely sewn Velcro, as a navy flyboy, we routinely paid that much just to have our squadron patches velcrowed to fit our green "bags" I would give them a four only because I don't have a clue what the Velcro on top is for...could somewhat perhaps enlighten us Navy boys?!Thanks,Ran

The hat is high quality. The patches are decent quality, but I have some other patches with much denser nicer stitching on the patches.

I own a couple of Condor Operator caps and I have never been disappointed. These are my favorite hats to wear. My oldest one is probably 5 years old, it is worn out but I still wear it.You can wash these in your washer machine just let it air dry. Color does fade over time but that is expected. All in all great hat.

we've had this hat for 3 years now, and despite a little brim wear, its still in amazing condition! not faded or worn much at all anywhere else and the patches are great quality as well. I'm glad this one came with the patches because many don't. will def buy again in another color if the need arises, but this company is A++

update 1.14.18I purchased this hat 4.13 and I am still wearing it with no reason to replace it. It's showing a bit of wear but no odd strings or holes anywhere. It will probably last me several more years.update 7.2022still wearing this hat 9 years later. its got a worn through area on the edge of the bill and faded a bit. it doesn't need replacing but may do it anyway. I may give it a few more years. its been a good hat.

Good quality hat. Fits well, but just barely. I consider my head average size, but had to extend the strap to the max for a comfortable fit. If anyone has ever told you you've got a big head, this may be too small for you.The Patches are great. A few loose threads, but nothing that can't be trimmed easily.Looks great after a week or two of wear, I just hope the black doesnt fade in time from the sun and/sweat. I'll update in a few months.

After Chris Kyle died, I started looking for a cap like he always wore--one with a Punisher skull. Turns out the one he wore was from his company, Craft International. The were backordered by about 600, so I bummed around on Amazon and found this operator cap I could pair with a Punisher front and Infidel back morale patch. I love it. It's comfortable, a beautiful OD green (the pic makes it look washed out/brownish--it's not), and good velcro. Excellent, especially for the price.
