Beautiful Pottery
Beautiful and functional little piece of pottery. As other reviews noted, it's a bit smaller than it looks in photos, however the dimensions provided in the description are accurate. I have not encountered the difficulty striking other reviewers mention; as noted in the included instructions, as long as the white 'strike anywhere' tip of the match is in contact with the striker it seems to work just fine. Overall a really nice addition to kitchens, bathrooms, etc. It's also great that you can get handmade, unique products like this from small producers through Amazon now.

Not functional
It’s beautiful and sturdy. I regret purchasing this, however. It only lights my “strike anywhere” matches 10% of the time.

Excellent high quality home made crafted piece
Highly recommend. I love the fact that the artist signed the bottom, and that it looks like it was purchased in a hand crafted pottery store. I’m so tired of mass produced products. It’s tiny, but we like the size as is. We actually use it in our bathroom, to strike matches for odors. I would recommend it for next to a fireplace as well. It takes the smaller size matches. Thanks, Bob, for your excellent craftsmanship!

Love this!
This match striker works great. The ceramic craftsmanship is beautiful and it's utilitarian; I wanted something small to put by the stove--this fits the bill and and is very user-friendly. I didn't have any trouble getting matches to strike. I like the smaller side for snuffing out matches also--helps to be able to drop the match in there rather than walk to a sink or safe receptacle. Useful and elegant!

Great functional piece for the bathroom
Great little bathroom piece that makes the space that much more comfortable. Perfect for a few matches and a stick of palo santo. A bit smaller than expected but that's just my own fault for not reading.

Takes special matches
I noted that this striker took special matches before ordering, however, I didn't find out until today that the strike anywhere matches are not sold or are illegal in several states including where I live in CA. So it doesn't work but sits on the fireplace after I

Absolutely Lovely
I absolutely LOVE!!! I use the striker everyday. The item received matched Amazon’s description exactly. Just be sure to have strike anywhere matches (The vendor mentions several times that strike anywhere matches must be used).
