This card is bigger than a standard birthday card and is quite low key in cream and gold tones….until you open it. The quality of the sound is really good, no more tinny little happy birthday renditions like in years gone by. The lights are also bright and colourful and you get a cheer when you blow on the candle.Amazing as it is, I still feel £14.99 is excessive for a card, even a special one so that’s why it’s only 4 stars for value for money.

£14.99 - the price of this card at time of review - is a surprisingly large amount to spend on a card. However, this one will at least guarantee you get a big reaction from the recipient. The big feature is the pop-up design which features a sparkly birthday greeting and plays music whilst multicoloured lights flash in time to the tune. The music only stops when you “blow out” the illuminated candle on the cake in the foreground, to a round of cheering and applause. It’s a cute idea, quite well executed, and would work well as a group card from colleagues or family which would bring the price down a bit too. The pack of course also includes an envelope and space to write your message, and the card can be enjoyed as long as the battery lasts. The design is all in gold tones on white so a bit more tasteful and grown-up than similar offerings which tend to be more cartoon-y and child-oriented.

This is fantastic for a special birthday. The sound is loud and the lights are bright and their colour-changes look great against a white and gold card.The fold-upThe 'blow the candle out and get a round of applause' feature is fab--it got the full round of laughs every time, and everyone wanted a go. I'm pretty sure my mum will take this out to show her friends, where it'll have another round of "Ooh's" and laughs and candle-blowing!It's an expensive card, no two ways about it, but it's big and it does a lot, and gets a laugh every time someones sees it. So for a special birthday (mum was 80), it's absolutley worth it.Big thumbs up!

This is a very unique pop up card. The design and gold colour scheme looks very grand and the pop up aspect holds up well.Can't wait to give it to my sister for her birthday :)

This birthday card is huge and looks amazing.The rich gold and yellow colours show on the card very well. This card is well-made and would be suitable for anyone, young or old.I enjoy a good interactive card, and this one, with its loud birthday tune, flashing colourful lights, and the option of blowing out the candles to hear cheering for the birthday girl or boy, is brilliant. The music and sound effects are clear and of good quality, and the lights add to the effect well.On the inside of the card, there is plenty of space to write your birthday wishes, or there is a writing insert if you prefer to keep the card blank.This is a lovely, quality birthday card in a nice white envelope that I would be very happy to give to someone for their special day.

The media could not be loaded.  I got this for my daughters upcoming 15th birthday. It's a huge card, much bigger than I expected - it's made from good quality, thick paper and the decorations are cut out well with no mis-shapes and nothing is bent or out of shape. The envelope is great quality too - very thick and sturdy so the card won't get damaged.I did a video of opening the card so you can see the volume and what it actually looks like in case that's helpful - the volume is good, not too loud that it blasts out but loud enough to hear it properly and the candle does actually blow out. A fun, quirky card!
