Despite tragedy in her personal life, Dalida was a unique star. Among her recordings are French versions of pop hits in the early 60's. She won the Oscar Mondial du Disque award from Gigi L'Amoroso', beating Frank Sinatra's 'Strangers in the Night'. She would go on to achieve many firsts in her illustrious career: She was the first European to be awarded a gold record (for the single 'Bambino'), she was the first singer to sell out the Palais des Sports in Paris for a solid three week run, and she was the first French disco singer, confounding all her admirers and critics. Here are 20 great songs that define a true French popular legend!

Classics!
Wonderful collection including songs from both 'Orlando' & 'Barclay' Labels. Early recordings like "Bambino" are treasures, her personal "Mourir Sur Scene" & "Pour Te Dire Je T'aime" are Classics! If you don't know much about Dalida, this is the CD for you.

NOT her best songs...
This disc only contains 2 famous songs, among which is "Bambino", but the rest are French covers of English disco songs, which were popular in her day, but that no one remembers any more...Boring old songs, uninspired selection - this CD is a BIG LETDOWN for Dalida fans, I don't recommend it...
