Superb TV for the price, Roku software is great for a bedroom TV.
I bought this TV for the bedroom and initially looked at similar 32" TVs from other brands, Sharp, JVC, Hisense, LG etc. I went to a local TV retailer and saw this TCL TV alongside the others and the picture was noticeably better, I then saw this was a 1080P screen whereas the others are 720P. I wanted the Roku version specifically as we have a Roku on our main TV and we are familiar with it. The local store only had the Amazon Fire version of this TV so ironically I ended up buying the Roku version instead from Amazon! The 1080P screen is excellent, and is noticeably much better than the other 720P screens on offer. Initially it looked a little dull but I realised that was because it was set to 'Power saving' mode by default. Once set to one of the other modes (there is movie, sport, auto etc) it looks perfect. The viewing angle is fine for our use and the contrast from blacks to bright scenes is more than adequate. The sound is, again, more than good enough. We have it set to 22 (out of presumably 100?) and it is loud enough without any distortion. It doesn't have huge bass which is to be expected but it also doesn't sound noticeably tinny to the point that I feel I should get a soundbar even when watching films. Of course, if this was the main TV in the lounge then it would perhaps need some more punch. You can fit a soundbar either though an optical connection or using the HDMI (Arc) port on the TV. It seems it will sync powering everything on with the one remote which is nice. The Roku software is very good. We have a Roku on our main TV and when setting this one up I just put in my Roku login details and it configured everything the same as the main Roku. All my channels were automatically installed and configured so I could just use this new TV exactly the same way as the other one. One of the other reasons I wanted the Roku software on this TV was that you can use the Roku app on your mobile phone to control the TV and you can also use headphones paired with your phone to listen to the TV. This is perfect for a bedroom TV where you might want to watch later in the evening and use headphones to keep the noise down. I don't think the other TV operating systems offer this feature so that steered me to Roku.Having the Roku software built-in to the TV along with decent enough sound through the speakers means I can run this TV with just the power cable out the back - no other wires, boxes etc cluttering-up the place. This is very nice in the bedroom where you don't want loads of tech paraphernalia.TCL seem to be a reasonably good brand when compared to the other options at this price point. If I was getting a 65" OLED then I would perhaps look at LG, Sony etc but for a 32" TV they seem to be ticking all the boxes. The screen is better than the other brands I looked at, the sound is more than good enough unless you want huge room-filling bass, the reliability of TCL seems to be better than many other big brands from the research I did, the price is less than a lot of the other options as well. It comes with a 2 year warranty which is enough for me. At this price if it dies after the 2 years I would still consider it a worthwhile purchase - although I do not expect that to happen judging by the reviews and technical assessments I have seen online. All in all, I would highly recommend this TV especially for a bedroom or if you want to use headphones while watching.

Recommend for a secondary tv. good features great value
Bought this TV for my sons bedroom who is 6, so didn't want to spend too much as he'll probably want a bigger 1 when he is a bit older.Done a lot of research buying this tv because the chances are he won't use the actual tv for terrestrial channels which he hasn't got setup in his bedroom..32in Version. Sleek design with small bezels around the edges and looks stylish.Very lightweight cant believe how light this tv is you can literally pick it up with 2 fingers.Screen quality is quite amazing really for such a small value tv, Had netflix running off it and the quality doesnt seem any different than my Samsung 4k tv, obviously smaller screen produce good image hence not needing a 4k tv at 32in.Sound quality a lot of people said was bad, but I find it not too bad, its not the best and certainly not as good as a sound bar, for a budget tv though I'm pretty happy with it.Features are amazing, comes preloaded with netflix and has a dedicated button on the remote, wish it had a youtube button but it's easy navigating around the android menu.Had to side load different apps I wanted but this wasnt too much of a problem but a bit annoying since it's only got 1 usb port, had it had 2 it would have been so much easier.Only bad point I've noticed with this tv, when watching some youtube videos it feels like the tv is constantly flickering, its hard to notice this but you can kind of feel it happening especially if your looking away from the tv and you catch the screen in the corner of your eye. This doesnt seem to happen on netflix only youtube that I've noticed and after tweaking the picture settings a little I managed to sort it out but it does happen sometimes. Maybe just the refresh rate or settings from youtube app havent had too much time to research that. All in all I'm pretty impressed with the TV, it was on offer for £169.99 and great android features. It takes a bit longer to boot up because of the android operating system, and if you are buying and using purely as a tv this could be a bit annoying but its literally 15-30seconds to boot up not too bad really.Happy with it and would recommend, maybe not as a main tv for the main room but defo a secondary tv, it's perfect. Thanks Amazon!
