Gilmore girls
Rory Gilmore travels a lot and gives up her apartment to stay with her friends in New York. She stays in Stars Hollow and also in London. There in London Rory stays with Logan Huntzberger and works on writing a book for the eccentric Naomi Shropshire (Alex Kingston). Rory and Logan have a free and open relationship, but Logan is engaged. Rory has a boyfriend named Paul, somehow, keeps forgetting him. Naomi fires Rory because of conflicts and Logan's fiancée also moves in, Rory has struggles with not having a satisfying career and her relationship with Logan turns blah. She meets with Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia), he has grown up and changed for the better and successful, he tells Rory to write her own book about her life with her mother.Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) grieves with passing of her husband Richard (Edward Herrmann) and tricks Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) into starting therapy with her. Lorelai has also felt the lose when her dad passed. Also her career relationships with her long-time business partners, and her relationship with Luke Danes had an emotional impact on her. Lorelai and Luke have been dating for over ten years but have yet to marry or discuss children. They look into a surrogate, and go to a fertility clinic run by Paris. Lorelia fights with Rory about the book idea, Rory angry leaves and Lorelai goes to Patty's Dance Studio where Stars Hollow: The Musical is being performed. A leading lady Violet's ballad ("Unbreakable") inspires Lorelai to go to the Pacific Crest Trail to forget about problems in the similar manner of Wild. When Emily accepts Richard's death, she sells their home, resigns from the DAR, and moves to Nantucket. Sheis single and independent now. Lorelai never hiked but finishes and returns from her trip, reconciles with Emily and Rory, and asks Luke to marry her. Rory goes to see her father, Christopher Hayden, and tells him of the wedding. She questions him why he let Lorelai raise her as a single mother. After a discussion they did agree that it worked out well. Luke and Lorelai marry in the gazebo in the center of Stars Hollow. It ends with Rory telling her mother, Lorelai that she is pregnant. You will not know who the father is. It was wonderful watching Rory grow up and I was happy to see Luke and Lorelia get married. The whole thing makes you fall in love with Stars Hollow. After watching the series you will love to see all this transpire!

The writers tried to update most of the storylines ...
I liked the seasonal format, referencing the theme song, was clever approach. Most of the character's storylines were at least updated. I believe Gilmore Girls fans will enjoy.

More please!
Love the original series, watched so many multiple times. Loved seeing where the girls have gone. Really honest life portrayals. Love the fun with Logan and the boys. I would watch as many more seasons as they would make. Love the Gilmore Girls!

The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same
I've been a major fan of Gilmore Girls ever since I saw the episodes on TV. I own all of the seasons and some days, I really enjoy grabbing a season and putting in a disc just to relax and have a good laugh. Last year, I was ecstatic when I heard Netflix was releasing the four seasons of A Year in the Life! When I saw they were being released on DVD this year, I figured it only made sense to buy it since I have the rest of the collection so I pre-ordered it.Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life: Season One contains the four seasons of the Netflix series. They are entitled: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, in that order. The entire season is 368 minutes so each episode is about 90 minutes long. There are no extras and many of the same characters from the original seven seasons make appearances, which was fun to see.I had forgotten most of what happened since it's been a year so I was excited to watch them again! I have mixed feelings about this season but mostly liked it. There are definitely some head-scratchers (like Stars Hollow: The Musical?????) but the same witty comments and conversations remain so that was nice to see again. Sometimes it seemed like a few of the characters hadn't changed at all in ten years which I suppose is bound to happen. Rory seems a bit lost but I also think that happens when you aren't sure which direction to take in life.Overall, I liked this season but didn't love it. I enjoyed the quick wit and there is still plenty of humor and Gilmorisms! I'm glad I got it since it's my favorite show and I will watch any future seasons if they decide to release more. I think if you are a Gilmore Girls fan, you will want to watch it but you may not enjoy it as much as the regular seasons. It's hard to resist the charming town of Stars Hollow!

Good conclusion
For anyone who's watched the original Gilmore Girls this is a must see I think, just to find out "what happened next". The series came to a satisfactory conclusion although unsurprising.Rory still seemed to be unsettled, wiffling back and forth across the Atlantic with alarming speed of turn around. Mother and daughter remained very close but still a little child-like which, for me, was the only disappointment. In this Rory is in her early 30s so a good few years had elapsed since the ending of the original series and, in my naivety, I'd thought they'd maybe would have matured a bit.Still enjoyable though.

Disappointing
I had watches all seven seasons of GGs and enjoyed them but what a disappointing sequel. No good plots. All the girls have got broken relationships except Lorelie who is stuck with boring musty Luke. No Richard, no Sookie. Just Miss Patty apparently stones lighter but looking half dead. The two Yale graduates scratching round for crumby jobs.....so we stuck it out until the Summer episode and turned it off where Stars Hollow were having a Stars Hollow musical. Dreadful! A very badly written series just thrown together to keep the hardened desperate fans happy.

Comfort Food For The Soul
This is four ninety minute episodes of wonderful time-and-the-river story telling. Gilmore Girls offers up some of the most beautiful and eccentric characters ever to appear on television, and its narrative constructions are like perfectly realised pieces of classic American literature. History, community, a sense of place, self-growth and an overiding gratefulness for the abundance of honest harvest. No, seriously, that's the real beauty of it all.

SLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTING
I have always been a fan of GG but I found these four follow up episodes rather disappointing. For a start, they are rather long and also they seem to dip from one thing to another . I still have two episodes to watch and really cannot muster the enthusiasm for them like I did for the original tv shows - which I still enjoy. Sorry Netflix

It's okay
It's okay. It's certainly not my favorite. I love the season's that they did until it ended but this particular one seemed rather different and boring. It kind of felt like I wasted my money getting this but at least I gave it a watch and got to see another side to it.
