Muddy waters was long before my time i got into his music through the film cadillac records, i am a big blusey fan really love the sound and beat. I play this record with a smile so damn good you'll be tapping your feet all day this man was a legend a real treat to hear him sing. The price of this cd was very reasonable a bargin if you like muddy buy this now.

At the low price, this is a stunning bargain: fifty tracks by the immortal Muddy, from his earliest recordings, accompanied by the likes of Jimmy Rogers {guitar}, Eddie Boyd then Otis Spann {piano} and the legendary harmonica of Little Walter.Roughly 70 minutes on each of the two discs, with minimal track listings and one of the ubiquitous Michael Heatley's brief but succinct booklet notes.What you get is most of the early Muddy tracks you need, in very good sound, in a slip-case.Its title ~ 'King of the Blues' ~ is both silly and contentious, but he's certainly up there with, say, Robert Johnson, Son House, the Wolf, and B.B.It's cheap and simple, but the music is the stuff of legend, Chicago blues to the bone. Just put on Still a Fool, and wallow in deep Mud ...Essential.

Love this music - great blues artist. Lots of music for the money

Quite repetative.

The first thing to say about this compilation is that its been remastered. I have progressed from Muddy Waters LP's on poor turntables to HiFi turntables, then CD and now this amazing sound remaster, with all the best tracks. OK it does reveal technical shortcomings of these 1950's recordings, but that's to be expected......Possibly the greatest and most exiting [excluding 'muddy 'mississipi' waters live'] electric blues ever made and ever will be made.
