Have caused BBA (Black beard algae)
From my fish-keeper experience, black beard alga is common in aquariums with strong lights. ... Excess nutrients in the water can also cause black beard algae. In water, where the concentration of calcium is above average, the calcium will build into the tissue of the algae

Arrived before date given by amazon, almost instantly covered in shrimp when placed in tank! Will be buying a bigger pack once this trial pack runs out! Well recommended!!
