A very interesting and very informative book on survival and self-defense for everyone.
One of the main things I do when choosing a book on any topic is check the writer’s credentials and experience in the field he or she is writing about. As a retired law enforcement officer, who was also a defensive tactics and police weapons instructor as well, I was very impressed with this book (Sheep no more: The art of awareness and attack survival) and the author’s incredible qualifications and real life experiences to write this volume. There is also a forward written by Sean Hannity. This fantastic book covers the “Attack and Defend” system the author learned as a U.S. Navy SEAL, F.B.I. agent, and Law Enforcement Officer and security expert. This volume explains in detail the essential steps you must take to prepare for violent action, to avoid possible violent incidents and how to manage fear. The title (Sheep no more) of this book is appropriate. If you are not willing to take responsibility for your own and your family’s safety and security, and is satisfied by just become a willing victim of circumstances this book is not for you. Just keep in mind you are living in denial. This superb information packed book is organized into five detailed areas:The first part explains why it is essential to understand the attacker’s mindset and what is an attack. The second part shows how to build an attacker’s target package in order to be more prepared. The third part moves to understanding the defender’s mindset and defensive actions. The four part focuses on escape, evade, fight and dealing with fear. The final part puts it all together and tells about one case study to show the importance of putting the attack and defend package together and being aware at all times. This is a book I highly recommend to anyone and everyone who is concerned with safety, security and self-defense in our often violent world. As someone who has tried to live by the warrior philosophy Bushido (Way of the Warrior) all my life even though I am an old warrior today, just keep in mind, we all have free will and can choose either to be a sheep or a warrior. Just keep in mind there are consequences to living in denial remaining a sheep.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective Combative Systems).

Literally EVERYONE should read this book!!! It's not about fear mongering. It's about being aware and alert!!!
I've been anxiously awaiting this book for weeks, but though I started reading the moment I woke up this morning, I never had any intention of reviewing it. I don't know, maybe I still don't. Maybe I'll decide to take this review down. I was raised conservative, but now identify as an independently voting liberal, so as a general rule of thumb I try to stay away from reviewing books with audiences that aren't necessarily diverse. Yet for all my promises I wouldn't even consider reviewing this book, and I'd leave the passionate comments to others, here I am. And ultimately, the why of that is easily explained:It's because though I'm not certain how diverse this book's audience actually will be, the simple fact is that everyone should read it. Everyone! Can I say it again? EVERYONE!!!This isn't about fear mongering, which I don't support. It's not about paranoia, which, maybe I am a little, but it makes me safer. This isn't a book about terrorists and a fear of Islam. It's a book about personal safety, and that's it. My husband is a "the odds are on my side" type, and I find it frustrating, but ok. I'm not that type though. I'm the type that tries to figure out where is the best place to sit in a movie theater in the unlikely event that a mass shooter comes in. And I think that what people don't understand is now that I'm used to it, this kind of mentality takes up a minuscule part of my life and thought patterns. It's just routine. It doesn't make me feel like I'm a slave to the process. I don't actually FEEL paranoid, nor do I think I'm crazy. Every moment where my personal safety comes into question, it's a simple chain of thoughts and decisions, and then I get on with my life. Done and done! And to that end, this book is a necessary, critically important resource to literally ANYONE who is willing to take the time to read it. It's written in an incredibly easy-to-read format that makes the concepts clear, and yes, easy to understand. It takes readers through the mind of attackers, NOT to instigate aggression or paranoia, but because once you can look at a situation as an attacker would, you can keep yourself out of harm's way. The information found in this book could save your life someday, and not even due to a mass shooting, but because it will make you more aware of your surroundings. Cars. Busy intersections. Dangerous streets. Dangerous situations. Will I fall victim to a mass shooting? In the opinion of the author, "The odds actually say no, and that [I] am more likely to fall victim to a car crash or illness". That is my opinion as well. But will the information in this book help in a myriad of other situations that are far more likely to happen? Violence; rape; murder? Absolutely!!! It's about awareness, and your position in relation to the world around you. So let me just say it one more time...EVERYONE should read this book!!!And as a final thought, here is my favorite quote: "If you do find yourself in a bad situation that you may have started because of your anger or because you were too prideful to let it go, take my advice: Swallow your anger or pride and look for a quick exit."

Interesting read 📖
This is an interesting read if you want a different perspective on the political world. Doesn’t matter what “side” you’re on, it’s always good to be open minded to things you wouldn’t think are happening or could happen. The book is a soft cover, with 191 pages. Written by Jonathan T Gilliam with a long list of credentials. Very recommended, great value for the price. Lost a star because the inside seam is falling apart.

Informative and brutally honest.
I'm so glad Mr. Gilliam wrote this book. Scary subjects yes but subjects that must be addressed in this most consequential time. A must read for anyone who wants to be proactive instead of reactive.

Simply the Truth
When seconds matter, the police are just minutes away. Overwhelmingly police are rarely at the scene of murders, rapes, robberies and abductions. Jonathan makes clear that You are responsible for your safety. It's in your best interest to learn and heed the concepts and tactics he sets forth in this book. Thank you Jonathan and God bless you. Excellent advice; safety is your own responsibilty
I am going to read this book more than once. This is a textbook for personal safety. Whether travelling abroad, or hanging out in your living room, Mr. Gilliam makes the point that our personal safety is our own responsibility. Why? Because no one knows us like we know ourselves. What is your daily routine? Where do your kids sleep? Do you have a family pet? What time do you head off to bed? When and where are you going for vacation?YOU know the answers to these questions. An attacker needs to LEARN them.Headed off on a family vacation? What would you do in the event of a terrorist attack? If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If you fail to plan for a catastrophic event,...Keep yourself and your loved ones in the know. We can't always be completely safe, but we can give ourselves the BEST chance of survival in the case of an unplanned catastrophe. That is what John T Gilliam has provided with this book: a road map to the best chance of survival in an unplanned catastrophic event.

Must Read!
Wonderful book. A must read for everyone wanting to avoid being a victim. Solid advise and insight into how predators find victims, and how to avoid situations leading to harm to you or your family members. I now have my daughter reading this book.

A little sparse, but worth it.
I really like Jonathan, but I wanted a little more. It's definitely common sense stuff for people who are new to understanding their surroundings and I DID get value out of the book.In fact, I'd buy it again for family and/or friends. If you're new to 'Tactical Awareness', buy this book. If you've already assessed your home and surroundings and watch your 'six' wherever you land,..buy the book. You'll still get something.
