We've been using this container seal for a number of years now. Container seals are used to verify that the container has not been opened when transporting from point A to point B. This has been our "go-to" seal. The serial number is easy to read. You separate the two parts by twisting the plastic that joins them, and then you push the two parts together. Normally, the way to get this pin open is to break it or cut it off.The piston goes into the female part. There is a groove on the piston, and the female part has a metal spring, so when you insert the piston into it, the spring goes into the groove, and you cannot open the seal without breaking it, which is all part of the design. Everything is good so far. However, this type of seal is not fool-proof. If someone wants to defeat this container seal, it can be done by making a special part that goes on the end of a cordless drill. You insert the end of the already locked container seal into the special tool, and you simply activate the drill, and pull back. The spinning action will release the pin from the spring that contains it, and you have defeated the point of why this pin is used in the first place. While I have nothing against this type of device, if you are using it and totally trust the people that are transporting the trailer, then you should be fine, because most people are not going to make a special tool, unless there is some high-stakes reason to do so. However, if you are concerned about the contents of your trailer, then you may want to use a different seal system. You can look-up this entire process.
