I was really surprised when I started examining this Wooden 4 in a Row Game. It's a game I've played many times, often with a cheap plastic set that snaps together and fits into a paperboard box. When this arrived, I pulled it out of the product box and right away was really impressed. Not only is it a good design concept for this game, every single component from the slots to the chips to the little pins that it pivots on are all wooden. It's a really nicely put together version of the game and has a great quality feel.The design of this product in general is very nice. It's quite compact and smaller than the typical gameboard. The slot tray lays on top of the wood box acting as a lid. If I had to critique anything, I wish it could be clasped shut somehow because the top can slide back and forth in either direction. Not a big deal though and I keep it in the original cardboard box when not in use. The slot tray slides over and pivots to stand vertical in the wood game box. Both sides act as a holder for the pieces so it keeps everything contained. You can even play it on a couch or outdoors without having pieces go everywhere and get lost. Gameplay is normal and once someone wins, you lift up the tray and the pieces fall out and back into the bottom of the box. It's simple but effective and is really very pleasant to use. There are enough pieces to fill up the whole board if you have a competitive game going and the whole thing packs away into itself. The wood is all smooth, the painted surfaces are uniform and bright, and it's really the best design of this game I have seen.The only thing I would caution is if you have younger kids who might get frustrated with the lifting and tilting of the slot tray, it would be possible to break this if some force was applied. It probably requires a bit more motor skills than the plastic version of the game to release the pieces and this set is nice enough it would be disappointing to have it get broken.Overall, this is a fantastic version of this game and was way nicer and better designed than I expected. It would make a great purchase or a gift and comes at a very good value!

This is a nice quality game! I like that it's small and somewhat compact because it doesn't take up a lot of room for storage. This is a great game for kids and adults alike. This version is super nice for adults because it's made of wood, not plastic. If you grew up playing connect 4 you will love to share this game with your children or grandchildren. The pieces are small but large enough to play with and the game is pretty enough to leave out when you're not playing. You can store the game in the original box when not playing if you prefer.

Nice size it doesn't take up a lot of room and is a fun game to play. it doesn't look like it's going to just fall to pieces. good value

Very nice game for kids of all ages. I love the fact that all the game board doubles as a storage for all the little pieces. Very easy to put away once done. Don't have to worry about losing the pieces.

The thing I like the most about this set is the feel of it, not being plastic, so it stands out among other games that are around there, this will make a very nice gift to any connect-4 game lover, or also excellent choice for a school donation for games to play when is raining and kids need a break inside. Highly recommended.

The pieces were so smooth I double checked to be sure this connect game was wood. The game stores in itself. The pieces are smooth and well made. And the game is fun, even if I lost every time I played.
