Prefer over Garmin, but without the built in mount.
I originally bought a garmin, but due to major issues downloading software, I returned and bought this. The garmin did have better graphics but the TomTom works! I'm a district nurse and I visit around 20 locations a day. I've not had any problems with the Tomtom, except like all sat navs they can't find houses with just names (no numbers) or warden controlled flats/residential homes etc. I personally don't like the built in mount, as I'd prefer to be able to easily un clip the sat nav, but the mount makes it bulky. It can be unclipped and flipped around, but it is very difficult to do for more than one journey.

for the basics of a GPS, it works.
The firmware of the device was outdated when I received it. Spent more than 14hrs to update the device (Map + CarNav firmware).Am using wireless AC internet with 100mbps dedicated internet connection. seems that TomTom website is very slow with the upload.Used it once in Iceland. It could not find any POI nor was it able to accurately find addresses in Iceland despite updating the map and trying to search in various ways.

Not impressed so far!
Will edit this review when I've started using it; this is the first "out of the box" impression.Very poor documentation about actually getting started; took a bit of ferreting round on the tomtom site.DOWNLOAD OF MAPS TOOK HOURS (& I really mean hours - about 6 on a fibe optic connection. Later found on a forum that using an ethernet cable is recommended - will try this tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow - after the download had apparently finished and the do-not-disconnect-your-device message had disappeared, I disconnected and THEN got a message saying download failed. (no "are you sure you want to do this" warning)The forums had lots of people with similar problems.Tapping the options on the device did nothing; fortunately I have longish fingernails which do seem to work.Seems much worse than a Garmin I had 8 years ago but ill-advisedly gave to my daughter....
