I bought 'How to Celebrate Burns Night' last year and have kept it safe to use again for Burns Night 2016. It really helped me - and I needed help as Burns night, done well, is not dead easy to organise. It has everything - recipes for food and drink, outline of ceremonies including piping in the haggis, songs, suggestions for speeches, recipes for the traditional food dishes - the lot. And recipes for traditional drinks as well. It even tells you the dress code for Burns Night.Perhaps best of all, or anyway the crowning touch, there's a link to be able to download templates for beautiful and appropriate decorations. You have to make them, but it's easy, only don't leave it all to the last minute. The idea is to be cool calm and collected on the night.

I found this book really helpful, lots of information in to complete a great evening.

A useful book...but disappointing that it was such a thin book...could've had more in it...ended up resorting to the Internet in the end!

This slim volume does a great deal to dispel the fear of formality of a Burns Supper. It encourages the recognition of Robert Burns as someone who always wanted to share 'a good time' with friends. In short 'How to Celebrate Burns Night' is a simple guide book with this in mind. Advice on procedures, poems, songs, menus and beverages are all included - a wee gem of a book.

Good guide for beginners and a handy refresher for old hands.
