Some of us are just old enough to remember poodle skirts, ducktail hairstyles on boys, and saddle shoes which this cute couple from the 1950s epitomizes. To create them, I adapted a vintage salt and pepper shaker illustration, then printed it on heavy luster paper with archival inks, bonded it to hardwood, and cut the shape out with my scrolling saw. The couple measures approximately 2 &1/4" x 2" and has a locking pin back. Even though they look dimensional, they are actually a photograph. The 1950s couple would make a wonderful anniversary or engagement gift as well as something for a Mid-Century Modern enthusiast. They travel by First Class mail in their own jewelry box.
