Blendtec Designer 625 Countertop Blender, WildSide+ Jar/Mini WS+, White

I purchased my first Blendtek designer series blender back in 2013 and have since gone through three warrantied replacement bases with my final third replacement failing on May 25th, 2022. Since I no longer have warranty coverage, I ordered another designer series. Why would I order another Blendtek after having gone through three replacement bases? After years of experience with Blendtek, it’s still the best choice for me as it will pulverize anything I put in the jar and the 8 year warranty coverage is great. That said, one must understand the limitations of the Blendtek or you will smoke the base.The base has overheat protection but by the time it shuts down on overheat the base is already somewhat damaged. (See my pic that shows smoke coming out before it shut down on high temperature!) Blendtek definitely needs to have over-current protection for the motor which would prevent smoking the motor. This is necessary as it is easy to overload the motor by overfilling the jar or blending overly thick liquids. Compounding this is Blendtek’s jar is larger than a Vitamix has, so it’s easy to overload the motor.As you are blending, put your hand down at the back, bottom of the base and feel the exhaust temperature and it will give you an idea how hard you are working it. When it gets quite hot (155+), then you are close to smoking your base and this can happen quickly.The key to not overworking the motor is all about filling the jar; for medium to thick liquids fill only to 30%, especially if doing frozen items such berries etc.; for thinner liquid you can go to about 60-70%. It’s all about viscosity and load.A word about the jar lid... it's terrible. The (old) previous lid was a 100% better. The new one is very difficult to attach so I switched back to my original lid and it is so easy to use. Why Blendtek changed it was a bad move. How is it that these companies make such bad counterintuitive decisions.A little wisdom… Get the Designer series over the Classic as the designer has an 8 year warranty versus a 2 year and more than likely you will need it. Blendtek has great warranty service except they need to receive your machine before shipping a replacement so figure 2-3 weeks.

Overall, it’s a sleek, powerful and a convenient product. It’s extremely powerful and insanely easy to clean.However, it also extremely loud (as expected) and froths up the shakes a bit too much for my liking.

We have always used a “bullet” device for making smoothies, but grew tired of having to make an individual batch for each person, so this has been a time saver! It is very powerful and definitely gets the job done. The ingredients go in opposite of a bullet (liquid first), so I have had to get used to that. It is loud, but that was to be expected with the power that it has. We will mostly use it for smoothies, but look forward to venturing out and trying soups, etc.. The controls are simple to understand. When the power is off you cannot see the controls, but as soon as you hit the power button, the controls light up. So far very pleased with purchase.

Despite the constant war between blenders like Blendtec and Vitamix, I would go with Blendtec every time :) I've never had an issue blending, my smoothies and shakes end up perfectly blended, the blender's speeds are awesome, and there are never any chunks of anything left over after mixing. This is the second Blendtec that I've purchased because I left one with someone else after moving and I'll be getting my next one from Blendtec in 10 years, as well! 100% would recommend

Blender works great. My gripe is that the pre-programmed cycle buttons are not the same on my blender as in the description photos. I contacted the seller and they assured me that the "cycles" are assigned to the different buttons on my unit, and that this is an issue from Blendtec and how they manage the Amazon listing. So, it's a confusing mess for anything other than smoothies.It does a great job with smoothies, though.

I previously had a lower end vitamix that was not getting the job done. Always stalling when I try to make a smoothie. So I decided to upgrade. After a lot of research it seemed this blendtec would be a great solution that had the power and design to blend up anything I try to make. That has not turned out to be the case. It is still better than my vitamix, but not a major improvement. I’m disappointed, to say the least.

A little concerned the product I was getting might not be legit due to the price being so much lower than other sellers, but it appears to be genuine and works beautifully. We've loved making smoothies in it, the julius we made was smoother than you can buy in a food court, same with the smoothies. The hot soup feature is awesome too! The only "lesson learned" regret was user error. Do. NOT. Overfill! They have measurement lines up the side and suggest not going further. Ignoring that suggestion risks explosion of half processed soup... we got about 10-12 feet of splatter in every direction. That HP is not messing around. It does have an auto off switch for when it happens, but the mess was already everywhere. Got the blender and also bought the twister jar, which is highly recommended for personal sized smoothies. Well worth the money!

Great blender, has had very limited amount of use and is now (8 months later) developing hairline cracks in the bottom plate of the unit. This blender has been used once or twice per week. Very disappointing.

Very powerful and durable device. Has exceeded my expectations.

Good warranty, which should be for the amount, I have no complaints , works well for nut butters ,etc
