Absolutely awesome
I use arcteryx and Patagonia etc... nearly exclusively. However, having been in the military.., i find myself missing my favorite sleepshirt. Therefore, instead of paying over $100 for the Patagonia R1 just to hang around the cabin, decided to give the cheapo version a try. And i am glad i did! This is the closest thing to the Patagonia R1 series, only about a third the cost. Not to mention, given how many of the companies today design clothing to fit some non-existant “model” ... most of their clothing are WAY....WAY to tight. But these are designed for actual human being sized persons. They are incredibly warm, can be worn as a base layer, a mid layer, or even over your other layers depending on size ordered. If i order a medium in Patagonia.. the Clothing items are clinging to me ... but these are loose (but not to baggy). They should include a size chart for Rothco on Amazon. I looked it up on the Rothco website. But it only had a generic sizing chart (the usual), which is goofy, because there are baselayers, midlayers, and jackets etc etc... all using the same sizing chart, and the items are all designed differently.Back to this item... it fits well... loose but not baggy. It is warm for the weight (equivalent to an R1). It has a long zipper to vent.. which has a zipper garage (or hood). As for the thumb holes everyone complains about. They work so you can hold the arm in place while pulling another layer over it.. and THEN..it is in the correct position it should be in (despite reviewsclaiming it is some weird place afterwards). So basically, you dont have to struggle to manipulate your shirt layers around (no bunching up under a rainshell or whatever). I usually position this “hole” so its where my wristwatch is in order to read your coordinates or other pertinent data (such as provided on a Garmin fenix for example). So this is spot on perfect for todays tactical operator. Lol ... The color is perfect as well. I ordered a medium in black color. Other brands now “coat” their products with a UV protector which means “black” oftentimes means black with a brownish tint (which is what my Patagonia R1 in black is..). However, this top is true black. It didnt shrink when washed in warm water and dried either. However, if you want it to last forever, wash it in warm water and hang dry. It dries very quickly in the open air or even nearby to the heater (three or four feet away). And when i say quickly? I mean... when i take it out of the wash its already pretty wrung out, And then after hanging nearby to well circulating air or near to a heater... i can usually wear it within 30 minutes to an hour). It all depends on how humid the weather is where you live obviously. For the price? Im going to buy another set of these for next fall/winter season. Good emergency item to have in the trunk if the car too.

Good quality
I was impressed with the quality of the shirt. I wasn’t sure if I was getting the same product that I had been issued a few years ago but this shirt looks and feels the same. Good comfortable fit.

so the fit is a lot more contoured and better fitting for an athletic build
Just received item so just some observations. I own the R1 and thought some comparisons would help. The material is very similar, almost identical to the R1, my medium in both weighs essentially the same. The waffle pattern of the R1 is a little larger in scale (squares are bigger) but the thickness of the outer layer and feel is the same. The R1 is composed of a lot more panels than this item, so the fit is a lot more contoured and better fitting for an athletic build. The medium fits much more snugly in the R1. So this item fits more like a pullover coat than a mid or baselayer. I am 5'9" and 145lb. Medium is loose but not too baggy for a light outer layer. Thumb holes are only good for holding on to sleeves while adding another layer, in the wrong place to leave thumbs in while wearing. The quality of the stitching and overall assembly is much better on the R1, but remember it is about 4 times the cost. Overall I really like the item for the price and will use it more like an outerlayer than a baselayer. Great value. Will have to see how it works out in practice.

Excellent product; great price; provides exceptional warmth and comfort.
I have owned several these pullovers that lasted 4 deployments (4 years) to Afghanistan. Great comfort, warmth, price, easy to wash. Size is exactly what is described by the manufacturer. I'm 6'3, 250# and XL is perfect. I would recommend this product.

Great mid weight base layer for the price
These make an excellent mid-weight layer for cold weather or all season use. Breathes well during physical activity, and synthetic fabric doesn’t hold moisture. A fraction of the cost of the north face, Patagonia, or cabelas (bass pro) brand counterparts. Been running the same set for the last decade and they are still serviceable. I am 5’10” 200lbs and the medium tops and bottom fit me perfectly.

Very effective mid layer at a reasonable price.
This runs on the large side. I suggest to size down.
