Q: Does it get slimy like the old ones?

Dear S. Abe Thanks for the question. Normally it won't be, only the ice pack sheets to be punctured or broken, the contents(polymer) leaking- out then will be leading slimy situation. Another point is avoiding the hydrated ice pack sheets to be exposure under strong sunlight long time since the UV light will make the contents(polymer) dissolution fast and making slimy situation, kindly please note and hope this is helpful for you. Q: Do you have to soak them every night to use in a lunch box everyday

Dear Lisa Thanks for your quesiton Actually we think that you don't need to soak them every time before using, becuase once you soak them, the ice pack sheets will absorb and hold the water to be like a gel ice poket for a long time, then after you freezed it, it will become a soild forzen ice sheet for using to keep cold for item. You just need to soak it again when them shrinking according to actual using situaiton ( since the water was absord will be evaporated very slowly) , not evey night or every day, kindly please note.
