It's a early to say, but promising
So far, so good. It looks nice and hits hard things. I use when I split wood. I hit it a few times and it worked as advertised. I like the polymer handle. My last one had a wood handle that eventually rotted and broke. This should last awhile.

Now that's a hammer
After losing my Eastwing hammer, it was time to find a replacement. Thought it would be an easy task, not. Come to find out, the hammers with fiberglass handles have been known to separate hammer from handle. So a $10 hammer wasn't a good choice and I'm not spending $30 plus for a hammer either. Looks like I got the real steel before their price hike of $5. Just lost a star for that. The hammer itself looks high quality and should last a lifetime. It is comfortable in the hand and looks cool. Only small gripe is that the flat area of the striking part of the hammer could be larger.

Solid
I purchased this to drive tree branches into a cast iron splitter. The splitter is fixed to an old tree stump to hold it solid, the log is press atop the splitter, then the hammer is used to drive the log over the splitter blade. This takes a lot more force that I originally expected. My old wooden-handled 2# hammer just was not up to the task. This 3# solid hammer works much better. Since it is all steel, I don't worry about the head flying off as I did with my old wooden-handled hammer. This hammer, 3#, is sufficient to get a log started on the splitter and, in many cases, is heavy enough to drive the log through the splitter. However, sometimes it is necessary to go to a long-handled sledge hammer to drive the tree (especially stringy wood like birch or very dense wood like oak). This is definitely a quality product and one I'm glad to have in my woodshed!
