Heavy duty sifter is made of thick metal and is very durable. I am able to scoop beach sand up easily and filter the material with zero issues. This will not bend like other cheaply made scoops. Very happy with this!

I ordered the sand scoop with the folding shovel. The shovel has a detachable handle and can fold closed, so that it fits in the camo pouch (included). The pouch was nothing fancy, but it does include a loop so you can hang it on a belt, if you like. The shovel itself is sturdy metal, but if you plan to use it in a salt water environment (as I will at the the beach), it's probably not going to last. I noticed some scratches in the paint just from using it here at home, and I expect it will rust since I don't think it's stainless steel. Basically, I ordered it so that my kids can dig through the sand with me, and I think it's more than adequate for that. The scoop though, that's worth the cost of the set. It's really well made, with solid welds and ground edges. It's a solid piece and I'm really glad I ordered it.

I have only been able to use it in the backyard for now and works just fine. I will update once I use it at the beach. It might even be a great option when clamming!

I try to keep an open mind on price versus utility. At time of review the combo scoop and shovel was about $49. Which lands this to me in the 3.5-4 star range. There are some really good pros that I like. It is definitely a heavy gauge scoop. It did not hold a magnet. General workmanship seems pretty good. Welds are clean and smoothed. One of my big concerns is the tab holding the handle to the body at the back. It only has a couple tack welds. Which is odd as all the others are pretty good and consistent. I tend to use the butt of the thing as an occasional light hammer. That is my main concern and loss of a star.The shovel. On the spade end it seems decent and not a lot of flex. The rake end could use some work. I get noticeable flex in each tine. Together it is a little better. It is ridged when stamped. So, likely a metal or hardening issue. The bag it came in also was missing it's zipper pull. Seems like there was damage at the factory or some point in storage.Overall, if the tabs hold and the shovel lasts a few goes then I'm happy with it.

This scoop sifter is very well made with heavier gauge stainless steel that’s about 1.4 mm thick throughout. All the joints are completely welded on the one I received though I can see in other reviews that that’s not always the case. This one, however, is rock solid. I’ve provided a pic of the complete weld in same area that only had two tack welds in another review.It’s not only great for metal detecting but it’s also handy in the garden.The folding combination rake/trowel is so-so, and definitely not of the same level of quality as the scoop, but I think the scoop itself is worth it.
