Go slowly. It will stretch your ring quickly.
It Works Great! The only problem I had was the small tip end of the punch mushroomed out after a few uses. But I just filed it back to round. After all It's not tool steel. If it was it would cost $50 or more. The jewelery store wanted $100 to resize my ring. This cost me less than $20 and I can use it over and over again for free. My ring went from size 11 to size 12. No problem. But go slowly.

Really works
As an urgent care doctor who has had to cut off one too many rings, I was starting to notice how my own wedding ring was getting tighter and was indenting in my finger.I was going to find somebody to size up the ring but just for the heck of it I browsed through Amazon here to see what was up. First I bought a ring sizer. Then I bought this. I was somewhat skeptical but for the price I figured give it a shot. Now I have a 14K ring, I would think a harder ring might not work out. I first used a lighter hammer as suggested by some and got nowhere. And MAYBE I shouldn't have done it but I started using a regular hammer. Pounding about 15-20 x /day and of course having to pound the shaft back out too, I got this up an entire ring size in 3 days. As other people have stated it is probably not good to get it all out in one session.

Leaves Deep Scratches on the Inside of your Ring
I was able to stretch a ring up about 1.5 sizes. Based on some of the other reviews, I did it slowly over the course of several days. Since my ring is fairly wide, I had to keep flipping it over - it is wider than the individual steps on this mandrel. However, because the slots in the mandrel are not polished after being cut, they have sharp edges. This results in leaving a whole bunch of deep scratches on the inside of the ring. I didn't notice it was doing this until I had completed resizing it. In my case, it's not that big of a deal, but it would definitely ruin any sort of inscription. The scratches are very apparent to the eye, but difficult to photograph. You can see them in the attached photo.

Don’t waste your money
It didn’t work at all. Plus my ring got stuck on it and I almost couldn’t get it off!! I watched a video about how to use this tool but reality was nothing like the video.

Just incredible
My 25 year old wedding band was too small and after it was removed for a surgical procedure I couldn't get it back on to my finger. I went to a jeweler and was told it would cost about $400 to increase it from a 9.0 to a 10.25. Way out of my ballpark. So I find this gem. I worked on it over a three week basis just a little each day, no more than 10 strikes with a hammer. You could tell right away it was working. The ring wasn't deformed in anyway. I just kept at it a little at a time and I'm proud to say I can wear the ring. It is size 10.25 and I save $380. I couldn't be happier and would recommend it to all.
