Bright light with a pretty good UI. I'll try to break this down into sections for easy reading, but please forgive my ramblings. I've been using a Streamlight Stylus Pro (2xAAA) for years, and probably still will for around-the-house stuff, but this Thrunite has become my go-to EDC. For the few weeks I've been using it, I have no complaints. It took me a little while to get used to a side-switch, as the Stylus Pro has a tailcap switch, but I'm getting there.UI: The light remembers the mode you left it in last (low, med, high), and just turns on to that level. You can hold down the switch and scroll through the levels, and double tap for turbo mode. You can also hold down for firelfy mode (great for avoiding searing your retinas to a crisp during, say, a stargazing trip), and triple tap for strobe mode (a good way to sear those retinas if you're not careful). All the earlier lights from other manufacturers that had 37 different modes you had to scroll through every single time you used them is why I stuck with my single-mode Stylus pro for so long. The T1s's UI is probably the best compromise of having multiple modes.MAGNET: I still miss the tailcap switch, but the upside of having a magnet where I'm used to having a switch is worth it for me. This has helped a lot by sticking to the inside of my car hood during impromptu fluid top-ups, as well as unloading carloads of stuff from my trunk during a recent move. It even stuck to the top of a U-haul we rented and greatly supplemented the firefly-in-a-Mason-jar domelight that's usually in the back of those trucks. The magnet is fairly strong, easily holding the weight of the light even on painted metal surfaces. As long as there's a flat metal area that's the same diameter as the light, it's not going anywhere.DURABILITY: This magnet feature also leads me to another big plus for this light. I know some folks complain that it's got a plastic lens, but it's been pretty darn durable. It has seen its fair share of drops on concrete already, with no visible scuffing except on the pocket clip. The durability really came through when I accidentally slammed the trunk of a 2008 Honda CR-V on it multiple times. I had mounted the light on the metal outer lip of the hatch (pointing at the ground when open) to help me unload during a move. It was 3am, I was tired, and completely forgot that it was there and still on. I closed the trunk, which obviously didn't shut due to a metal flashlight jamming it open lens-first between two metal body panels. I kept slamming it shut, assuming that a cardboard box was propping the hatch open and would give a little if I shut it hard enough. On slam #4 or so, I realized that the light was still there and removed it. No damage to the lens, not even any scuffing on the anodizing. It didn't even turn off. It just left a nice circular T1s-diameter dent in the CR-V trunk lid...In summary, I think this was money well spent for my uses. The only item that I think needs any improvement is the pocket clip, but these two-way clips from all brands seem to have the same issue of not really sliding into the pocket easily with one hand (lens side down). The one-way clip on my Streamlight doesn't have this issue, but I think the pros on the T1s really outweigh this one con. As for other options, I considered the Olight Baton 3, but didn't want to pay that much and wanted a non-proprietary battery. I also like the idea of just using my iPad/laptop/everythingelse Type-C charger instead of carrying around yet another proprietary cable, no matter how cool wireless magnetic charging is. But if you're ok with the battery and have already invested in the Olight ecosystem, that may be an option for you. It also may be worth taking a look at the Streamlight Microstream USB. It's not Type-C (not much in this size range is), and it puts out less lumens, but it's slimmer and around the same price. Hope this helps you make a decision!

Bought this for my wife- she wanted something small that she could easily fit in her pocketbook and have on her all the time, to look at items in stores that weren't lit up adequately, etc. This was a perfect size- she wanted something short. Puts out plenty of light, the battery holds the charge- it's very convenient to be able to plug it in and charge it, along with everything else these days- phone, watch, etc. Beats replacing batteries all the time. And this little thing is BRIGHT, for her purposes.If any one complaint- it is a big jump in brightness between High and Turbo. But seems common with a lot of these lights.Seems like a quality build. I liked it so much, I bought a larger Thrunite for myself to have around the house ( TC15 V3 ). Larger, but much brighter even, same nice quality.... and I don't mind the size. But if you want a mini-size light, this T1S V2 is very nice.

Wanted a decent EDC penlight awhile and after researching around 50 went with this instead, because it's brighter, the battery lasts much longer then most penlights and it weighs about the same or less.Positives: The size/weight, ease of use, durability and longevity of this light make it a very worthy EDC one or backup.Size/Weight: Super tiny was shocked when I first saw it expecting a bit larger, but this is great for carrying it and forgetting about it. For things you want to constantly carry with you or clip on hats this is perfect, so tiny and lightweight you will not even notice it at all.Ease of use: The button menu for this light is not overly complicated at all especially if you compare it to some modern lights using the overly complex ones. It has a memory on/off function returning to the last light intensity setting used and changing it just involves holding the button down till you get one of the 3 choices. The firefly mode you just hold the button while it's turned off and the SOS feature require some fast clicks to access from any state. To make sure the light is disabled you can untwist it till hitting the power button does nothing.Durability: It says it's drop rated for 3 feet and (being 6 ft tall) I unintentionally got to test those claims out twice already. Once I dropped it on a wooden floor from my lap (roughly 2-3 feet) and it had zero damage afterwards. The next time I dropped it again off my lap while getting out of a SUV I was working on (roughly 3 feet) and it fell hard onto the cement below bounding off the head of the light, this time it had very minor damage on the plastic grey rim around the top a small chip and on the side with the cooling fins a tiny mark appeared which shows the bare metal under the black paint. After both of these drops it worked perfectly fine as they had claimed.Longevity: If you mainly use the lower lumen settings it will last you all day long. The medium setting is plenty bright and will last 5.5 hours, low is great for prolonged camping trips for 44 hours and the firefly mode is very conserving lasting 27 days is great for emergencies.-----Negatives: Short design, gets hot on turbo setting fastShort design: This thing is almost too short when holding it in a hand your pinky finger will not be needed making griping it for prolonged times more awkward(at least it has a clip). I really wish they would sell an extended tube option with larger battery options to correct this and add more longevity for this light at higher ranges.Gets hot on turbo setting fast: It gets really hot quickly and I don't trust it to step down and continue going while being so hot, even after it remains very warm and takes awhile to cool. Only use turbo for few second bursts if at all.----Extra thoughts: Grab a small 24.5mm(head of the light) range Diffuser Tip for this light, they're great for lighting up an entire area around you while camping if you leave it hanging.I wish they had included a lens cap built into the lanyard to protect it from scratches while carrying and keep the lanyard in place better(it could even have been the missing diffuser).I wish the light had a wider range of lumen mode options between medium and high, high should have been 200lm making it have a more useful 160mins at that setting and then a very high option with the 400lm.----Conclusion: The light is fairly priced for $30 and with extra coupons seems like a great deal. I removed one star for its very minor shortcomings, but overall it almost got a 5. If only they would make it a bit longer, add a larger battery and more lumen options this is 5 star worthy.
