I purchased two different sized units - 180x300 + 200x 300. Most of the external unit is aluminium powder coated so should last a long time. Handles are sturdy and strong and again should last many years . The ground posts are light weight but with the coach screws and good solid ground to fix into, it holds the roller handle well. The wall brackets i believe are power coated but possibly steel, and once set up level and in line with the main roller body simply allows the main body to slot in and the Allen keyed locking bolts hold the body firmly , and with a few turns of an Allen key are as easily to release . The180 X 300 is a little more powerful to pull out for some reason and the entire sheet looks taught whereas the 200x300 is not a powerful and has a slight sag along the top edge, although this may be rectified with some minor adjustment either by a slight tilt on the post or adjustment of the main body brackets. The action of pulling the handle to draw out the sheet is best done maintaining a 90 degrees angle ( so you are actually pulling it in directly in line ) and keeping the same height or elevation, rather than drawing it out ethier upwards or downwards. When nearing the post within the last 10cm then gently lift up and then latch the handle into the post at the top and the aluminium front edged sheet onto the small hub at its base. To return the sheet to the main body simply do the reverse but remember to allow it in gently at an even pace and at a level height and it should wind itself in evenly and easily slots nicely into its base. If you do find you have not kept it at a level height when winding it back in as the material will tend to ride up or down then simply pull it out again and allow it to re wind itself in by guiding it , so as to remove any uneeven rolling and it should simply slide back into its holding position in the main body. As well as the product i found the customer service second to none which is getting very rare these days. So overall , the product looks and feels sturdy and has a good finish, keeps out the rain and will keep out the sun ( although this is written in the winter) easily fitted once all holes drilled and easily removed if required.

We bought the 3m x 1.6m for the side of our pergola to stop the wind, and it is absolutely fantastic! Not only does it look amazing, bit it was so easy to fit..literally 10 mins. The material is thick and waterproof, and does it's job brilliantly, remarkably well made and sturdy for the price. It would be great for sun protection but that's not what we needed it for. Well worth the price, i would certainly buy more. Just one comment...the tension is great and keeps taught, even in strong winds, but if you struggle with arm strength, it could be difficult to put out to it's full length. Even so, the tension can be adjusted to make this easier. 5☆ Amazing!

A good and well made product. Aluminium construction looks robust as does the powder coating. The slightly asymmetric top keeps the screen looking taught. The spring is strong and recoils the fabric well. My only concern is that you cannot lock the screen in position. When the wind blow, the fabric billows a little and then the spring pulls it back into the casing. I fear this will eventually wear the fabric on the roll.

Good quality and easy to fit. Does the job we intend it for.

Bought as a wind break for my patio. This garden awning is just what I needed to make my outside patio usable for more months if the year. I have a covered patio at the side of my house with an outdoor heater, however the wind would howl down the side of my house meaning we could only use it on calm days. I discovered this garden awning and decided to give it a go. I had to build a side extension to the fence as the awning was not quite big enough to reach where I wanted it. The installation it very easy and when not in use it is near and tidy in its own housing. The awning has more than lived up to its expectations. It has made my patio more like a conservatory, which is amazing. The wind is stopped and we have now been able to enjoy being outside a lot this year even with the wet and windy summer we have experienced. Tips: When returning the awning to its housing, you should do this slowly and ensure you keep it as square as possible. If you just let go or do it without care it will not retract properly. The awning only has a handle in the middle to secure it to the other side. This can cause the awning to wobble in heavier wind. To stop this you can use bungy cords on the top and bottom to secure the top middle and bottom of the awning.

Great item, I purchased the 200/300 size and it seems well made, The short post is supposed to be bolted to the floor but I had no option to do that so I drilled 3 holes down one side then screwed it to a wooden post using a spirit level and plastic spacers...This idea came from another review and works well for me. The locking system isn't very good as the handle can be lifted out from the post without squeezing the handle to release the lock which is purely a small plastic button... I will be ordering a second one at some point as I'm very pleased with it... The delivery was fast but the housing has 3 dents obviously where it has been slung around in transit...but this cannot be effect my product review

Bottom plate bent/poorly fitted so the upright does not stand vertically. Aluminium is damaged and leaving a sharp piece. These faults could not have caused in transit.

Very pleased with the supplier (TecTake) service in terms of delivery time. I haven't contacted the supplier so that is all I can comment on. I have two screens: one at 2m height and one at 1.6m height, both positioned for privacy, rather than sunshade, round a hot tub. The installation is quite straight forward and all fixings are supplied. The 1.6m is at full stretch but it is still managable for my wife to open and attach to the retaining post. For that screen I also had to fit the retaining post off to one side so the shade has to be pulled straight out to full stretch and then moved to the side to meet the post. BUT, *both* shades had the end plates dislodged on delivery (I ordered them months apart). This must be result of poor handling either at warehouse or during transit for delivery. Some of retaining screws 'ripped-out' the thread of the frame. I repaired on both occasions (longer screws) because it is easier for me to do this than return for a replacement. On the second delivery the plate was so loose the screen had lost its tension. However, the instructions tell how to re-tension the screen and this worked perfectly. I strongly suggest that the quality of the packaging should be improved. :-) Otherwise, I am very pleased with the job they do for the price.

Der Stoff ist zu dünn und die Spannplanke verbiegt sich beim Herausziehen, sodass das Einrasten nicht problemlos möglich ist. Ich persönlich kann diese Markise nicht weiterempfehlen.

Bon produit, j’en ai installé deux pour ma pergola depuis quelques semaines, ils font le travail, ils sont bien résistants aux coups de vent, la toile est épaisse

Very good product & strong , definitely does the job to assist our privacy . Also the awning has coped well in the winds too .

Die Markise ist relativ einfach anzubringen. Beim Ausziehen braucht man aufgrund ihrer Größe etwas Kraft, aber ausgezogen hält sie, was sie verspricht. Auch bei etwas stärkeren Wind hat sie bei uns keine Probleme. Alles in allem ist sie ihr Geld wert.

Kam schon mit Beulen im Blech bei mir an und die Spannkraft des Tuches ist so stark, das sich der Halteriegel verbiegt und so nur noch mühsam mit zwei Händen einzurasten ist.Meine Frau schafft es garnicht! Billig eben!!
