Couldn't put this book down for more than just the content! This cover is velvety smooth, it's incredible. The story envelops you in the mystery of the world. A great take on a fantasy coming of age story. Ready for the rest of the series!

This novel is very well written. There are real thrills and excitement during the fight scenes. A little like Harry Potter joins the Hunger Games, the book displays a comprehensive imagination and vision of a fantasy world. The last chapter is so full of exposition that it loses the speedy pace of the rest of the work. One can anticipate the sequel(s) and hope for more directions and exploration of character.

I really enjoyed the character development throughout the book and how three friends had to work through their difficult pasts in order to overcome their challenges.

Tolkien meets Rowling in this journey though time. Excellent storyline that draws you in fast! Well-written with good imagery and character development. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. I can't wait to read the sequel!

I bought this book for my teenage grandson and he absolutely loves it. He has been an avid Harry Potter fan and loves Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan, but he says he found his new favorite author.
