Good little "back-up" tourniquet to keep in the Jeep.
I participate in high risk outdoor sports where the potential for injury is an ever-present reality. Because of that, I typically carry a "blow out" kit to treat severe injury. This tourniquet isn't as robust as the ones that I normally carry but would serve as a good backup. The windlass seems to be strong enough to handle the pressure needed to stop blood flow to a limb. The webbing that the windlass winds up is a little light but also seems like it would get the job done. It's fairly easy to apply and operate with one hand so I feel confident that I could use it if by myself. The scissors that came with the kit are fairly lightweight but do an OK job of cutting through light cotton cloth. I wouldn't use them for daily carry but feel confident that they would work in a pinch. The pouch is fairly light as well but holds everything together and can easily be attached to a molle panel. For the money its a decent kit but wouldn't be my "go-to" first choice.

Tested it: fabric and windlass held up and did not break. Pouch/Scissors are great additions!
Alrighty folks, I'm going to start with this: should you really trust a no-name tourniquet to save your life, a family members life, or someone else's life just to save a couple bucks? Probably not. That being said, I've owned a few no-name tourniquets and usually toss em in the trunk of one of our cars along with a name brand one just so there's an extra. They are also great options for training. And, if the cost really is a concern, as it undoubtedly is for many, having a no-name tourniquet that was $5-$10 cheaper than known brands is still better than having no tourniquet. Now that I've said that, I went ahead and tested this one out for you all. You're really not supposed to re-use tourniquets more than once, and that's probably more so the case for one of questionable origins, so I wanted to test this one out fully so you don't have to if you feel like you'd rather not. The verdict? It went perfectly fine!I tightened it down pretty darn tight on a yoga roller and the fabric and the windlass (the plastic stick you turn to apply pressure) held up fine and neither broke. I'm attaching a photo of this tourniquet in the tightened state and what it looked like afterwards. You can see how the fabric stretches out from use. Will it stretch even more on a second use? I don't know, I'm not going to test it 20 times since you really shouldn't be using a tourniquet more than once anyways. The one I got worked perfectly fine for a single use.Based on my test, and bearing in mind my opening statement, these work fine for what they are and are at a great price point. I'll be throwing this one into the trunk with 1 or 2 unused tourniquets just in case. The inclusion of fabric cutting scissors is a great addition and I have to give the carrying pouch a HUGE thumbs up. It's got a molle strap on the back making it easy to attach it to any number of medical or tactical accessories, bags, belts, etc. I plan on actually putting a name-brand tourniquet into the pouch with the scissors.I'm giving this a 100/100 (5/5 stars) because it worked fine, comes with a fantastic molle pouch, and has the scissors. I recommend this for an extra tourniquet to toss into a car, in the home medical kit, your boat, your camping stuff, whatever.I'm going to close this by recommending you still consider picking up 1 or 2 tourniquets from a company like NAR (North American Rescue) who is the most prominent tourniquet manufacturer used by the military and EMS personnel across the country. They will run you about $25, possibly a bit less on a sale.Oh, and attend a FREE 'Stop the Bleed' course! Look them up online, they are free, and they are offered all over the country. It might just save your life or a loved ones life in the future! And then when you feel like you've begun forgetting what you learned go back and attend one again!Stay safe out there everyone!

A Must
I purchased this right after my son's friend's life and leg was saved when his brother applied a tourniquet following an ATV accident. Have one on ATVs, dirt bikes, tractors, etc. It's better to have it and never use it, but also, make sure you and the people with you, know how to use it.This one comes in a pouch with a pair of thin, basic bandage scissors for removing clothing or cutting up fabric for wraps or slings. The tourniquet has a label to write the time you applied the tourniquet but they didn't include a writing utensil. That's probably not something you're going to have on you or want to look for in an emergency situation. Keep the scissors but add a marker for the label.

Inexpensive, and better than nothing
With the typical caveat that you shouldn't scrimp on lifesaving equipment, this is a pretty decent piece of kit for the money. Also, if you can afford to buy a few tourniquets to put in your vehicles, your shop, etc. then you're more likely to have one if you ever need one.It includes a pair of scissors that are decent for a freebie. Add a permanent marker and you've got a good TQ kit.The carrying case can strap onto MOLLE webbing or other convenient straps.
