Very helpful, easy to sleep with
I’ve been recovering from a surgery where they took a piece of bone from my hip to graft elsewhere. In general, the pain from this has been mild, but I have been limping around. I’d say my pain is like a four out of 10. I’ve used it when I go to sleep at night and it’s been really helpful. I’d say it stays cold for at least 30 to 40 minutes, which is the amount of time it takes for me to fall asleep. The ice pack itself, I don’t know if it’s like a gel inside or what. But it’s not super hard like most ice packs are. Whatever the material is inside that’s cold when you take it out of the freezer, whatever that material is, it’s flexible. I think that’s one of the reasons why it’s easy to sleep with the straps are fairly wide. I just measured my hips were both of the strap fall on my body. Top part of my hips I’m at 38 inches, lower part is 42 inches, (I’m also currently between a size 8-10 in women’s pants, size 30 in jeans, if that also helps). I have more than enough slack on the top part where it’s definitely comfortable. I’m not having to stretch the strap. It’s slightly less slack on the lower strap, but I still have enough where it stays on me. The adhesion seems like it’s a type of Velcro situation? At any rate. Highly recommend and very helpful for my surgery recovery.

Very effective
I had hip replacement surgery. Dr recommended icing for several days after the surgery. I bought 2 so I could alternate. These things are big and cover a lot of area. They also get very cold and stay cold. They really helped me in my recovery. Excellent product

Excellent coverage that stays cold
This product offers excellent coverage and stays cold a long time—certainly longer than you need to be icing at a go. You can start on the flocked side and switch to the nylon side if you want to go even longer. My only issue is that at an "extra large" the top hip strap is barely long enough to secure on my 43" hips and the thigh strap is so long that it remains a little loose on my thigh even when I make it as small as I can. It still does a great job. It just could be better. The ice pack, itself, though, is probably my favorite among the five or six brands I have. Something about how it flexs and is just the right thickness and area of coverage just works. I took a chance on one of the cheaper hip ice packs and it paid off. I can't imagine doing much better, and I wouldn't have paid the difference for the strap issue.

The gold standard!
Revix ice packs are the absolute best! As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of ice packs (haha), to me Revix is the gold standard. It stays cold for a long time (45-60 minutes), I start with it on the soft side, and then flip it to the hard side to extend the cold. I have many of their ice packs, but the hip one is particularly great. I am petite and it covers my entire hip, thigh, upper leg and goes all the way around to the middle of my lower back. For hip procedures and pain, it is perfect. I also lay it flat to use on my back. Because it tapers, it perfect covers almost my entire back, from the outside of my shoulders down to my lower back. They also have EXCELLENT customer service. After a little over a year, this one started to leak so i contacted them on their website and they sent me a new one no questions asked. Amazing! Highly recommend this company and their products.

Hip replacement cold therapy
Comfortable. Pain relief was immediate!! Excellent quality. The velcro straps work wonders. A great buy, considering the relief.

Not really xtra large
Even though it says extra large, the strap is not long enough to go around the waste. I am using this for total hip replacement. I am 5ft 9, 185 pounds. Lists of swelling, but not at waste where I need to strap on ice pack. Great to just lay over top, but need one that fits. Returning

Wonderful icy comfort for hip joint pain! These really work for me when I need them.
These really help when my hip pain acts up--a little hard to keep in place while I'm moving around (although pulling a pair of leggings on over the ice helped keep it in place along with the Velcro straps) but really great when I'm lying down to sleep. I place a single layer of toweling between my skin and the ice pad, and that works well to allow just the right amount of cold to my hip joint. These pads stay cold for a good long time too--I'm so glad I got two to begin with so that when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can switch out the warm one for another cold one. I get a whole night's sleep that way! I don't have to use them all the time, but I still keep them both in the freezer for that occasional bad night or difficult day--they are always ready to go!

The size and shape are what make these AWESOME
Bought two of these pre-hip replacement surgery. If I knew someone about to have hip surgery and they asked for the top 5 things to get to prepare, these would be in there. Yes, the ice pack is pricey. But this pad is large enough it wraps around. I set mine by the arm of my chair and park my glute on part of the icepack and wrap the rest around the side of my hip. Instant relief. This icepack is REALLY heavy. Some folks might not like that if they have a touchy wound. I was concerned about it because my wound really hurt (35 staples), but because I wrapped the pack around and didn’t have the whole weight laying on my wound, it was fine. (It might be too much to put on top of a knee replacement, for example.) I have not tried to wear it because I haven’t been that ambulatory yet, but the straps are well made and once I’m walking more I’m going to try it.I do like the soft, brushed side designed to put next to my skin, but if I’m wearing pajamas or leggings I use the other side because it feels colder. I haven’t timed how long it stays cold, but it’s a decent length of time. Not all night, but certainly a few hours. I tend to swap mine every 3 hours or so because I want the pack COLD not just cool. These are really well made and seem like they’ll last a long time. I’m going to gift one to my son for his achy neck once I’m healed and keep the other one myself.
