Looks nice but feeder holes far to small
I bought it because I liked the designUnfortunately most birds just ignore it, because the pecking holes are far to smallHave opened up a few holes, but birds still feed from my other two original peanut feedersSorry but I wouldn’t recommend this feeder

nUT FEEDER
This although very small mesh which seems to be the norm with peanut feeders and I find that the birds have difficulty getting the nuts (probably better than them falling through the holes) - I did in fact slightly widen a couple of places and the birds seem to be eating from it - I even noticed a jackdaw come to it on a few days and manage so with his sized beak I should image the little ones will be able to! I like the fact it is easy to see how far down the nuts are and hopefully they will not rot in this one like some I have had and then have to throw the whole thing away. Would recommend this and probably just widen a couple of holes now and then.

Stops large birds eating all the peanuts!
The mesh on the feeder is strong and with holes small enough to stop Jays, Magpies and Jackdaws from getting at the peanuts, leaving the smaller birds to feast away happily. The feeder arrived very quickly after ordering and was well packaged.

Squirrel proof feeder
Most important thing I wanted was a squirrel proof feeder which so far it is. I have seen a squirrel trying to get into the feeder, to no avail, so now they don’t even bother. The birds seem to like it so it’s “so far so good”.

Only lasted 1 day
Looks great, but the hanger is held by a plastic tube, the squirrels chewed it off on the first day it was put out and now the feeder is useless.

Small
This is smaller than I expected but I still like it and so do the blue tits. Sparrows are less keen on it perhaps due to its size and as for the starlings well they do not like it at all as they cant get a proper hold on it and peck at the nuts at the same time. It is easy to fill and looks nice however I dropped it when hanging it up and now there is a dent in it so perhaps it isn't as strong as it could be. Despite this I would still recommend it for feeding small birds.

Its a great product
Tom Chambers products are well made, and seem ' natural' when in the garden, the nut feeder is superb and while we purchased this we also purchased the 'seed feeder' just a pity about how long it took 'time wise' to be delivered, the 'seed feeder' was only a dissapoinment due to the 3rd feeding station being missing, cannot really blame Tom Chambers for this mistake just dissapointed as these were a gift and they do look great.

Nice
Nice looking item. A little difficult to fill because the lid doesn’t swing back as much as I would like and the container cannot be easily stood upright.
