Cover Valet CRX Spa Cover Lifter

I love my cover valet. It works just as advertised. to save space and makes it easy to take off/put on the cover with only one person and minimal effort. It seemed a little flimsy at first, but tighten down the nuts and adjust it to fit and you've got a great tool for ease of use.

It worked great in the beginning and I thought I had found a great item. This didn't last long as the weight of our Softub ended up being too much weight for it and the metal bent so the cover ended up almost touching the ground. This was after less than 15 uses.Keep in mind this was a Softub and not a large hot tub. I would not recommend this at all.

Works well with the SoftTub, requires very little clearance as you can see from the photos. Simple and sturdy.

I gave 3 stars because we just set it up today and oy time will tell if it holds up. There were inconsistencies with the instruction videos and the paper instructions and it took 30-40 minutes. Pieces that were shown in the video were not the same as what were supplied in the package but we managed toHave all the needed supplies with 4!extra washers when all was said and done. We tested it on our triangle 2 person hot tub lid and it worked just as we had hoped. The auto adjusting legs were easy to set up to The height of our hot tub and we didn't experience any issues because our hot tub lid is a small triangle but I'm not sure how it would hold up with larger lids.It doesn't seem as hardy as we might have expected and is hallow and light weight. I am hoping it will survive the winter season.No news is good news so if the item operates and works as expected I won't be back to update this review. If it breaks as some people have experienced then I will update this review.

I purchased this in December 2019. It has been in constant use and has held up very well. Since it is out in the afternoon sun every day, the Powdercoat finish is wearing off, but that is to be expected. I'm very satisfied with this product. If it breaks in the future, I will buy another one.

Decent but cheap. Really wobbles around after installation and we have a very small three person tub. I would not want to have to muscle around a big cover as this valet would not last long. Better than nothing but I would not re-buy this cover valet. We have a round tub and its tough to find any cover lift. The lifts that attach to the sides of the tub and fold the tub cover over are far superior to this style. Don't listen to the comments on how the cover valets that lift your cover from the center seam of the tub cover will wear out the cover quick - not true. Those are the best lifts and the cover will long fade and wear out from UV before the seam gives way. A good cover is a good cover.

The first one I ordered broke because the metal is cheap. They were good about replacing it and sending me another one, but it was made from the same cheap metal and the second one broke as well. I went and bought some metal piping from my hardware store and bent it to fit what I needed and haven't had a problem since. So if you want something to get you going in the right direction while having to replace a few parts this is what you need.
