The best printer I've ever owned
First off, I wanted a laser printer and hadn't considered a LED printer before, but after a bit of reading decided that it was probably the way to go and I've got to say, the quality did not disappoint. It certainly appears every bit as good as laser quality to me.As per an earlier review. Note well, this printer does NOT have WiFi. You will need to connect to it by using a network cable if you want to use it over the network. I have wired mine into my wireless router and all works perfectly (scanning and printing).Personally, I think that he power consumption is very good. I've put a power meter on it for the last month and it estimates that it will cost me about £4 per year in electricity to run it. In that time I've printed off about 650 pages and I leave it on standby, which uses approximately 1.5W of power. As for toner, you get a full set with the printer and the black seems to be good for about 700 pages (it's started warning me now on 650). So, I've just bought a Genuine Brother black cartridge which should do 2500 pages for £50. You can get the refurb's for about £40 though. It's not noisy, well, not when compared with our previous HP Deskjets anyway. It is quite big and heavy though, so make sure you have enough room for it and something sturdy to sit it on.The touch screen is a joy to use, the printer is so simple to operate and the software (on my Mac) is a simple and light install. On the whole a clean simple and efficient printer. I wish I'd bought a Brother ages ago.

Excellent printer - until the ink runs dry
A full set of Brother cartridges cost over £240 because this printer refuses to acknowledge compatible cartridges - and I've tried 6 types without success.A new printer which includes a full set of cartridges costs a little over £200.So I'm going to send this new printer to landfill and buy a new one. In 6 months time I'll have to do the same again.Or maybe I'll just refuse to print anything ever again and stop giving my hard earned cash to the cabal of all printer manufacturers.

Nice printer, shame about the software...
Reasonable print quality although the colours are a little muted. Reasonable scan quality although it doesn't quite scan close enough to the edge of A4 sheets and misses characters from A4 documents that are printed close to the edge. Scanning JPEG images to a computer over a network is flawed as you have to initially walk back to the recipient computer and choose the ControlCentre4 option, then walk back to the printer to continue scanning. Also, on the recipient computer, it loads the scanned JPEG images in Paint with no preferences/options to use different software or to just leave the images on your computer without opening them. Scanning of PDF's is straightforward though.

NOT WIFI but great printer if you have a long wire....
N.b. this product is MISLEADINGLY DESCRIBED on the description - IT DOES NOT HAVE WIFI CAPABILITY.This is a colossal beast of a printer! I've finally made the jump from inkjet to laser/LED (bored of clogged printheads!) and I'm not going back. The scanner function is also totally awesome and blasts through 20 pages per minute: wow!Criticisms so far:- Colour print is a little lower quality than anticipated, but is basically fine (just don't use a magnifying glass to inspect the print quality)- Misinformation/lack of clarity regarding wireless capability: this machine is NOT WIFI ENABLED but when connected via hardwire to your router, other wireless devices are able to access it. Let's hope this printer is close to the router or (in my case) you have a very long CAT5 cable! If it had been clearer I would have bought the model with wifi capabilities, but heck - my CAT5 is long enough so whatever.Summary - great printer which I love using (so far - 1 day old at time of review) just know the tech specs before buying.

Very pleased
Good printer for small office, with occasional print and scan needs. Very easy set up over existing wired and wireless network. A bit bulkier and heavier than the Dell multifunction printer that it replaced. Very expensive OEM replacement toner cartridges, but one of the cheapest machines for compatible toner cartridge sets(available via Amazon for under £30). Text definition is better than the Dell. Angled colour touch screen controls intuitive and easy to operate.

Good buy, good service.
Good printer. Very good quality printing and other multi functions. Drawback - Not Wireless, wireless version not available in India.Seller- initially reluctant regarding installation by company personnel, but later arrangement for the same was made. A bit of delay from Brother company. Glad that seller was available and regularly following up the issue. Delivery as promised.Overall a good product & seller!!!

Great Price beats the competition
Extremely slow packing and shipping time knocked off a star.It also looks used with the black smudge on the top of the printer. So another star knocked. However, the product is great because1) It prints both sides automatically2) it does fax, copy, print and scan - all in one.3) it's a laser printer. Hence no smudges from water falling on the printed paper.4) fast print for our office use5) price is just way below any other MFC which can print on both sides automatically in colour.
