Cool idea
My toddler and I set this up together. The instructions were a little hard to follow at some points. We also totally messed up and thought the fertilizer was the carbon. My husband threw out the carbon because he thought it was just for freshness, and the fertilizer isn't labeled so we assumed it was the carbon. Ooops. We still had ok germination. I thinned the plants and the few remaining are growing (very slowly). I might need to add some fertilizer. Love the blue bottle--looks super cute on the windowsill.

Very small but still growing
Easy to build. Anxious to see how big it grows.

I’m not sure
Sadly for my family it didn’t grow very well, however we don’t have green thumbs so it’s possible we are the issue. The jar is pretty and it’s a fun project with the kids.

It was a dud
I love house plants and am very familiar with hydroponics, so I was excited to grow some mint myself with this kit! Sadly it was a dud and only grew one little sprout that quickly died. I followed the instructions to a t and did everything I could to help this plant grow. I'm not sure what went wrong. I would not order this again.

Ingenious
Summer is monitoring season and you can't make monitor without mint. This hydroponic system is ingenious. It is very easy to do. All the components are included: seeds, pods, growing medium, food and specially designed mason jar. I love that many of the components are reusable. Just started mine so looking forward to plucking fresh mint. Other versions contain sage, basil or oregano. Fun.

Did Not Live Long
This is a beautiful jar and I was hopeful that I could get whatever grew to last a while. Unfortunately, the little that did sprout died shortly. I followed the instructions to the T, so I am not sure what else I could have done to ensure the rest of the seeds sprouted and actually stayed alive. I would suggest skippping this entirely
