Sticky
You will need patience to reel these strips out of the little canisters and to follow the instructions eg use red pulley to open, then reel out anticlockwise. Most importantly: wear disposable gloves when putting these out as they are very sticky, even the red pulley. The little canister stayed on and I thought the weight would help keep straight. And if there is any wind when putting out then if like me you put on a hook above the outside of a window, you will get sticky glue on window as it moves in wind. Regular window cleaner wont remove the glue BUT nail polish remover on a cotton pad will. You will probably need to hold it there for a few seconds for it to come off but it will. Then wipe glass to clean the nail polish remover residue!Typically on the window where it was placed for a few minutes it caught four flies but will put back there when the weather settles.

They don't work
They are quite fiddly to use and very sticky. They don't work not one fly was caught. Waste of time and money.

I'm not blown away by this product although it works well for me
Three stars might be a bit mean when this product does work pretty well for what I want - catching small flies. I have 3 of these up in a small problem area and many flies have become attached. Great! But on the minus side, I had real trouble unwinding the papers from their containers. Three of the eight didn't make it out of their containers at all - the pull tag broke and the paper remained in its sticky container. Two of the others tore while being unwound from their containers, leaving me with short papers. Only three of the eight made it out undamaged. And for the record, I was very careful when unwinding them, not heavy handed.I now need more fly papers and am going to try a different brand, to see if I have more luck deploying them.
