Drive people nuts
Well made. Look so much like the original Colt 1855 Carbine (which you will occasionally see on "Gunsmoke" re-runs. Heavy enough it absolutely will not move, is difficult to knock over; deep enough to hold any pen, letter opener or other desk accessory. Has always been a great, much appreciated gift.

Excellent pen holder, holds everything
I love this item. It looks like a real cylinder but EXTRA LARGE. It fits pens, sharpies, scissors, and other things. Super useful and has a good look. Any imperfections in the metal are what make it look real and I think it’s great. Very heavy it can also be used as a paperweight. Whatever 6 items you fit in it, it WILL NOT fall over. I recommend this item.

I use this to store my DE razors compactly on the bathroom counter.
The holes are .75 inch in diameter so all my DE razor handles fit (the razor head dimensions mean you can't fit six razors unless you vary the head heights, I use dimes). Being aluminum there is no concern about rusting or marring. Plus it is heavy enough that it is very stable. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Pictures Do Not Do it Justice - So I Will Not Insult the Piece
I write reviews regularly and I don't give anything 5-stars unless I love it, and this was really close to getting 5-stars but I need it to have some sort of grip or surface pad on the bottom. Still, I understand why it doesn't have one in case you want to lay it down horizontally. Either way, it is solid and as heavy as a paperweight should be. It leaves nothing to the imagination of what it is - a gun cylinder.I read the other reviews and my cylinder had no sharp edges, no scratches or dents, black paint is not chipped, and it is just one "BAD" piece of art! I mean what a great idea? When I began my search for a pen holder I did not expect to see this and I was nervous about the size, weight, and the condition that it would be in when I received it. Let me tell you, you will not be disappointed! A great gift for a gun lover, hunter, or sportsman/woman. Buy two if you are one yourself, because you will surely be jealous of the gift if you don't have one of your own!

A desktop gem.
This is rather large, essentially identical to a standard sized coffee cup in its footprint. To me that is great because it will hold large pens,SHARPIE markers, scissors, letter openers and many other desk widgets. Up to six in all. It also has some decent weight so it won't tip easily. The finish and build quality is quite good. It has a slight faux patina. I like it, but be aware that it exists. It is made to resemble the cylinder in a rather large revolver, but loaded with pens that illusion is far less so if you are anti gun this shouldn't bother you too much. I have a rather large collection of quasi exotic WATERMAN/CROSS/MONT BLANC fountain pens, roller balls, mechanical pencils and ball points and two of these allows me to keep all my favorites close at hand and to have immediate access to many ink colors. I gave this 5 stars, but wish I could do 4.5. The only issue that I have with it is the bare metal bottom. Having a mahogany desk I don't like things which might scratch. For this reason I keep a package of little rubber stick on feet from LOWES in a desk drawer so it is an easy and inexpensive fix ... but a tiny piece of factory felt would also have been nice.

Good but not Perfect
Mine is a reasonably clean die casting with smooth walls to the interiors of the six holes. Top edges of the holes were sharp so I smoothed them using a tapered cylinder grinding wheel mounted in a cordless drill-driver. I also added some felt to the bottom of the cylinder, making it more table top friendly. IMO both changes should be done by the manufacturer. The holes measure 19.45mm or .765" in diameter and are 84.6mm or 3.3" deep. The cylinder itself is 71mm or 2.79" in diameter and 89mm or 3.5" high so it is big. A 50 BMG cartridge case based pen needs to go in point or bullet end down as the base of the 50 BMG case is too large to fit the holes. All in all a fun way to hold six pens and/or pencils.

I have a love of vintage fountain pens
I have a love of vintage fountain pens, much preferring them to ballpoints. The pen holder fulfills its purpose superbly and to protect the bases of my fountain pens I have inserted a couple of 19mm felt pads into each compartment. I would have no hesitation in recommending this pen holder to anyone.

Good value for money. Minimalist. Paperweight.
For £5ish its good value for money. Keeps your desk more minimalist. You really don't need that many pens. About 1.5kg. Can double as a paper weight.

Looks nice in the picture but has poor quality.
It looks like the picture but mine has a problem with it. Two of the six holes to hold the pens have rough edges (burrs) on them left from the manufacturing process that can scratch and ruin the finish on nice pens. I didn’t use it right away so there’s no option to contact them to report the problem. Save yourself the headache and don’t order something from a manufacturer with no quality control.
