Love my Shield but that sandpaper-like grip against these soft ...
Oh yeah.... that hits the spot. Love my Shield but that sandpaper-like grip against these soft love handles in the hot weather was too much to bear. Feels about the same grippiness (is that a word?) but much easier for those of us concealing in this hot weather.Instructions were very clear. Application took maybe 10 minutes after reviewing the instructions and dry-running the process. I peeled the backing off a section at a time leaving the backstrap portion for the last. Hit it all with a hair dryer and focused on the edges. Looks and feels like a integral part of the gun.

Excellent product
The grip and feeling of control it adds, is outstanding. My S&W M&P Shield comes with an excessively abrasive handle texture. It made conceal carry quit uncomfortable. These feups eliminated that discomfort completely.

Every gun should have Talon Grips
The first thing I do when I purchase a new gun is put Talon Grips on it. They're easy to install, look great, and most importantly they tone down the aggressive grip texture on most polymer hand guns, without sacrificing the ability to firmly and confidently grip while shooting.

Great grips - not so great order page on Amazon
First, the bad: The picture on the Amazon page shows a 9mm but I received grips for the 45acp. Also, the grips that came were the coarse texture when I wanted rubber. Why are there no drop down lists where you could specify what you want when you order?? Obviously I returned the grips through Amazon's no hassle process. Now the good: I reordered directly from the Talon website where I could be sure of what I was ordering. Shipping was still free via U.S. mail, just took a couple of days longer. The grips are much more comfortable than the sandpaper texture on the frame of the Shield 2.0 They are still plenty grippy but don't feel at all irritating. They did not add any bulk to the frame whatsoever - well, half a millimeter is almost nothing! It was not hard to install the grips but you need to do it slowly and carefully. Follow the excellent directions that come with the grips. It took me maybe 10 minutes to do. When first lining them up they seem like they might be just a little too big but do not trim them. I thought I might have a little gap in the backstrap but when I heated the grips, I was able to flatten them out. I think they came out perfect. Just take your time. I am very happy with my decision to get these grips.

Easier than you think to install
I was very intimidated by this product, because I'm absolutely terrible at applying stickers correctly the first time. However, because of the way the adhesive works on this, you can lightly place the grip on and pull up and restick as many times as you need to get it right.Following the advice of some YouTube videos I saw, I used a toothbrush to go over the stock grip first to ensure there wasn't any skin or anything stuck in the stock grips.Took me a good 15 minutes to get it perfect, and I think it looks great. I used a heat gun instead of a hair dryer (I don't have enough hair to justify owning one) and carefully set the temp to 115F to ensure I didn't go over the 130F max they specify in the directions.Definitely significantly nicer to carry now, and my girlfriend no longer complains about her hands hurting when we go to the range anymore.

Wrong description and wrong Shield model
Talon grips are awesome and in the case of the Shield for CCW, they are almost mandatory to keep your belly from getting scrapped up (appendix carry). However, the description is wrong - these grips are indeed for the 2.0 series but this one is for the .45acp model which is slightly larger. The 2.0 9mm and .40 s&w models are the same size (but smaller than the .45) and the talon grips part number is different for those. They even have a picture of a 9mm from the 1st series which contradicts the 2.0 series description. Needless to say, I'll return these and order direct for my 2.0 40 cal. Hope this helps anyone with a 9mm and/or .40 s&w model and saves you some time.

Perfect for conceal carry
When I first purchased this I was scared to mess them up, but after watching a short youtube video I was able to put them on with no problem! It fits great and I dont feel the harsh grip rubbing against my side.

Really nice feel for a non-slip grip
I put the rubber coating on a S&W Shield 9mm and a Shield 45. I do like the feel of these covers and it is a definite improvement in grip as opposed to the polymer factory finish. Follow the instructions to the letter to make sure they form well. You'll love 'em.
