Not as good as I would have hoped.
They are nicely made. However no matter what I do and everything is earthed the hum level is still higher than I would have expected. During checks I disconnected the table, I changed the power supply, there is still an oscillating deep fuzzy hum. I will now have to try and find a preamp that is acceptably quiet.

Does The Job For A Bargain Price
Having decided to take down my old separate hi-fi components, and their many wires and interconnections, and replace them with a new all in one unit, I still wanted to play my vinyl. Obviously, although the player has the essential AUX in socket, (not all of them do), unlike the old amplifier, there is no built in Phono Stage. Not wanting to spend silly amounts of money, I thought I would try this external Phono Preamp. It is so easy to hook up, and the sound produced is excellent. If I was being picky, although there is a light indicating the unit has power, there is no On/Off switch, meaning you have to unplug it, or turn it off at the power output if you are not using it.However, not enough of an issue to affect the rating.

Good little extetnal phono pre-amp
My Cambridge Azur amp lacked a phono stage for my Pioneer PL520 turntable, so I took a chance on purchasing this external unit which proved more than adequate. It sits unobtrusively behind the audio equipment with its own power supply, and exhibits a small, red LED light indicating power on. Noise is negligible (at least to my ageing ears). Connections to/from the pre-amp are standard RCA, with an earthing point from the turntable as well.

Plug in and play
Does the Job perfectly - just plugged the in lines from the deck to the pre amplifier and the out lines from the pre amplifier to the aux plug on my music system.
