I Shall Not Be Moved

This was a gift for my mother. She loved it. But I wish I'd paid for attention to what a short, little book of poems it is. I should have read the description to see how many pages it was.

I love reading her work. It speaks to me and awakens the courage that I have often forgotten was there.

Thought-provoking and enchanting all at the same time. Only the talented Maya Angelou could accomplish both in the same book and even same poem.

Powerful and inspired words which are eternally timely.

I would love to hear Maya Angelou read these poems aloud. I heard a past reading of her works on NPR at the time of her death. Many poems are brief, but say a lot.
